Chiefs Forward Set to Join Raiders this Fall

NEWINGTON, CT -- Matt Loftus, a forward for the Connecticut Chiefs, has committed to Rivier University for the fall of 2021.

The 2000-born native of Simsbury, CT spent just a single season with the Chiefs, tallying 15 goals and 21 assists in 42 total games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). Included in his totals from the 2020-21 season was a goal in the playoffs that took place this past March. That goal is worth noting as it stood as the game-winner in the Chiefs series-clinching win over the Seahawks Hockey Club.

Loftus is the latest player to add his name to a deep core of EHL alumni who will be looking to help the Rivier Raiders get off to a strong start in their inaugural season at the NCAA Division III level this fall.

Overall there are 17 total EHL players advancing onto Rivier.
