Avalanche Forward Set to Join Panthers in Fall of 2023, Return to EHL Next Season

HOOKSETT, NH -- Aden Hotchkiss, a forward for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to Plymouth State University for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of Clinton, CT recently participated in the 2021 EHL All-Star Classic, and now has a weight off of his shoulders for the remainder of this year plus all of next season.

"Aden has been an amazing part of our culture here in New Hampshire," said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He has really matured his game and has been one of the best forwards in the EHL this season. His top choice for college hockey and academics was Plymouth State and he has really worked at getting to this point of his career. He will be our captain during the 2022-23 season where he can develop with us for one more year, before going off to play college hockey in 2023-24 season at Plymouth State. He is going to be a great addition to the Panthers, both on and off the ice. We are very excited for Hotch!”

Hotchkiss is the latest Avalanche player to choose Plymouth State,  joining the group of past commits that includes Jarrett Slear, Kyler Harding, and Colin Tracy from the last few seasons. After posting 26 points in 38 total games throughout the entire 2020-21 campaign, Hotchkiss has already surpassed that mark this year with 28 points in just 21 total games to date.

"I’m very excited to join Plymouth State in 2023-24 to further my athletic and academic careers," said Hotchkiss. "It was a place I really could see myself over the coming years and I am very excited they gave me this great opportunity.  I am very excited to come back for one more season in the EHL to get bigger, stronger, and faster and looking forward to developing with the Avs.  I would like to thank my family, teammates, and friends. I would also like to thank the coaches in the Avalanche organization for helping get to this point in my hockey career. I'm very excited to be a Panther!"

Hotchkiss and the Avalanche own a record of 15-3-3 so far this year and the team will return to action on Thursday, December 2nd, when they travel to take on the East Coast Wizards at 12:30 pm.
