Maryland Forward Climbs Ladder to NCAA Hockey

ODENTON, MD -- Nick Graziano, a forward for Team Maryland, has committed to Wilkes University for the fall of 2022.

The '01 native of East Stroudsburg, PA is in his 5th season playing under the #EShow umbrella, and 2nd year skating for Maryland in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). Graziano's junior hockey career began in the 2017-18 season with the New Jersey Renegades in the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP). After three years developing with the Renegades, Graziano was ready to make the jump and he had also left his mark, as he ranks as the 3rd leading scorer in EHLP history with 136 points.

"Nick has worked tremendously hard, and this shows the level of trust these young men have in us," said Maryland head coach and general manager Josh Fusco. "He devoted himself to change and become better and he was able to make the transition to become a complete hockey player. Nick is an example of why we do what we do. These young men become better in so many ways, both on and off the ice, and to change a kids life is an amazing feeling. We are so proud of Nick and excited to watch him in the future at Wilkes."

To Fusco's point, Graziano's first year with Maryland was much different in comparison to his current age-out campaign. In 17 total games during the 2020-21 season, Graziano registered just a pair of assists. Fast forward to this year and things have been very different, as in 23 total games to date, the veteran forward has 13 goals and 15 assists to his credit.

"Coach Fusco and TM, as well as my whole overall experience in the EHL, has prepared me for this next step in my career and I cannot thank coach enough for the guidance and help he has given me," said Graziano. "I'm extremely excited about joining Coach Hynes and the Wilkes family in the fall."

Graziano is the prime example of a player progressing on his way up the ladder, after playing three seasons for his father with the Renegades, and now two years for Fusco with Maryland. Graziano is the 10th player in league history to choose the Colonels' hockey program.
