Accolades Keep Coming for #EShow Alumni

BOSTON, MA -- The weekly honors keep adding up for alumni of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) that are now making a name for themselves in the NCAA ranks.

Hockey East Association (HEA)

Anthony Del Gaizo (New Jersey Rockets -- University of Massachusetts Amherst) was recently named the Player of the Week in the HEA.

HEA Press Release -- Anthony Del Gaizo (Sr., F; Basking Ridge, N.J.) led UMass to a 1-0-1 week with a team-high four points on three goals and an assist. He tied the score twice at #15 UMass Lowell on Friday as his second goal came with 1:27 remaining in regulation to force overtime and earn UMass a point on the road. It marked the first career multi-goal game for the senior, who followed up with the game-winning goal in Saturday’s 3-2 win over the River Hawks and an assist on UMass’ game opening power play tally for his second straight multi-point effort. Has an active four-game point streak (3g, 3a).

EHL Career -- Del Gaizo began the 2015-16 season with the Rockets in the EHL, and in 22 total games, the '98 forward had tallied 19 goals and 20 assists to his credit. Del Gaizo was off to such a fast pace that he caught the attention of the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the United States Hockey League (USHL). With the Lumberjacks, Del Gaizo went on to put together a solid three-year campaign that ultimately led him to where he is today with UMass.

Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC)

Brendahn Brawley (Philadelphia Little Flyers -- Plymouth State) was recently named the Goalie of the Week in the MASCAC, marking the 2nd consecutive week that an EHL alum has claimed this award.

MASCAC Press Release -- Brawley notched his third win of the season on Saturday, making 37 saves on 38 shots (.974 save percentage) in the Panthers’ win over Salem State. Currently has a 0.667 GAA and .977 SV% on the season to go along with a 3-0 record (2-0 MASCAC).

EHL Career -- Brawley spent a pair of seasons with the Little Flyers, capped off by winning the 2018-19 Goalie of the Year award at the end of his age-out season. Overall, the '98 native of Pennsylvania's 51 wins rank him at the very top of the all-time wins chart in EHL history. Along with the victories, Brawley also currently sits at the top of the charts for all-time shutouts, of which he racked up 13 total throughout his time in the EHL.


Jakob Kubik (Philadelphia Little Flyers -- Worcester State) was recently named the Rookie of the Week in the MASCAC.

MASCAC Press Release -- Kubik logged a pair of conference wins in net for the Lancers, holding opponents to just three goals over two games with 52 total saves, a 1.5 GAA and .945 save percentage. He made 32 saves and allowed just one goal in a 3-1 road win at Fitchburg State. At home, he made 20 stops as the Lancers beat Salem State, 3-2.

EHL Career -- Contrary to Brawley, Kubik spent just a single season in the EHL, and won 15 games this past year with the Little Flyers. Included in Kubik's totals were a pair of additional solid marks with a GAA just over 2.50 and a .915 save percentage.

Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA)

The EHL saw a pair of alumni get recognized with Top Performer honors this past week in the NCHA.

Trevor Coykendall (Philadelphia Little Flyers -- Adrian College)

NCHA Press Release -- Coykendall had a career weekend against MSOE over the weekend. On Friday night, he recorded his first career hat trick leading the Bulldogs to a 9-4 blowout. On Saturday, he recorded his fourth goal of the weekend along with an assist to help the Bulldogs to a 6-1 win and sweep the series.

EHL Career -- Coykendall spent a single season in the EHL with the Little Flyers, tallying 33 points in 42 total games, and helping to lead his team all the way to the 2017 EHL Finals.


Cullen Kane (Connecticut RoughRiders -- Lake Forest College)

NCHA Press Release -- Kane contributed to half of Lake Forest’s goals in Saturday’s 10-3 victory over Finlandia. The senior forward scored to tie the game at one early in the contest, recorded an assist in each period, and tacked on another goal in the third. Kane also gave the Foresters the lead for good with a power play goal in Friday’s 6-3 triumph.

EHL Career -- Kane also spent just a single season (2017-18) in the EHL, but made the most of his time while tallying 76 points in 50 total games combined between the regular season and the postseason. Also, it's worth noting from that year that Kane was part of the first EHL All-Star Team to face-off against an NCAA Division III opponent.

Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10)

Matt Amante (New England Wolves -- Southern New Hampshire University) was recently named the Rookie of the Week in the NE-10. This is the 2nd time this season that Amate has claimed this award.

NE-10 Press Release -- Amante only scored once this weekend, but it was a big one. His goal with 15 seconds remaining gave the Penmen a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Saint Michael's, helping SNHU remain unbeaten in Northeast-10 play. The first-year player has four goals and five assists for nine points in his first 11 games with the Penmen.

EHL Career -- Amante spent two full seasons in the EHL, starting off his first eight games with the New Hampshire Avalanche, and then he headed north in the Granite State to join the New England Wolves for the remainder of his junior hockey career. Overall, in 59 career games in the EHL, Amante racked up 22 goals and 38 assists to his credit.

State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)

For the 2nd time this season, the EHL has completed a clean sweep of the weekly awards in the SUNYAC, with all three honorees having past experience in the EHL.

Ryan Romeo (New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs -- SUNY Brockport) was recently named the Player of the Week in the SUNYAC, for the 2nd time this season.

SUNYAC Press Release -- The Brockport Golden Eagles went 2-0 over the weekend with wins over Buffalo State and Fredonia. Romeo finished the SUNYAC weekend with a team-high total of five points, tallying one assist in the team's 6-1 victory on the road at Buffalo State Friday. He also contributed to all four of Brockport's goals in a 4-2 victory over Fredonia at home on Saturday. He netted one power-play goal and recorded three assists.He was also +5 over the course of the two victories for the Golden Eagles. Romeo currently leads all defenders in the SUNYAC in goals (6), power-play goals (3), assists (12) and points (18). He currently leads all skaters in assists and is tied for first in points and ranks second in the conference in plus/minus (+16).

EHL Career -- The '96 native of Fairpoint, NY spent two full seasons with the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs, helping to win the program's first and only EHL Championship in the 2015-16 season. Overall, the steady defenseman played in an even 100 games throughout his time in the EHL, tallying 38 total points along the way  


Nolan Egbert (Boston Jr. Rangers -- SUNY Brockport) was recently named the Goalie of the Week in the SUNYAC, and this is the 3rd time so far this season that the veteran netminder has claimed that honor.

SUNYAC Press Release -- Egbert went 2-0 in a key SUNYAC Conference weekend for the Golden Eagles. He recorded a total of 57 saves in the Golden Eagle's wins over Buffalo State and Fredonia this past weekend. Against Buffalo State, Egbert recorded a total of 27 saves allowing only one goal in the teams 6-1 road victory. The following night in Brockport's 4-2 win over Fredonia, Egbert recorded a total of 30 saves against the Blue Devils finishing the weekend with a goals against average of 1.52. Allowing three goals against a total of 57 shots leaves Egbert with a .950 save percentage to end the weekend. Amongst goaltenders In the SUNYAC who have recorded over 500 minutes of play this season, Egbert currently ranks first in fewest goals allowed (14), goals against average (1.57), save percentage (.944%), win percentage (.778%) and wins (7).

EHL Career -- Egbert spent a little over a year and a half with the Rangers organization, capped off with a Goalie of the Year honor at the end of the 2017-18 season. That year featured the first installment of the EHL Frozen Finals, in which Egbert helped lead the Rangers to their first appearance. Overall, Egbert's name sits in a tie for 3rd on the all-time wins chart, as he finished his EHL career with 43 total victories to his credit.


Anthony Del Tufo (Philadelphia Revolution/Team Maryland -- SUNY Plattsburgh) was recently named the Rookie of the Week in the SUNYAC. To date this season, Del Tufo has now claimed the Goalie of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors each on one respective occasion.

SUNYAC Press Release -- Sophomore goaltender Del Tufo made 24 saves to record his first collegiate shutout in Plattsburgh State men's ice hockey's 1-0 win over Potsdam on Friday, Dec. 3, at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. Del Tufo made 11 saves in the second period and eight more saves in the third period as he kept the game scoreless and then made the goal scored by Sophomore forward Thomas Maia at 14:27 of the third period stand as the difference in the game.

EHL Career -- Looking back on Del Tufo's time in the EHL and the veteran netminder played out two different stints throughout his junior hockey career. He started off with Maryland in the 2018-19 season, a year in which he finished with the Maryland Black Bears in the NAHL, and he that followed up by playing out his age-out season with the Revolution. Overall, Del Tufo won 16 total games throughout his time in the EHL.

United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC)

Kyle Panatlone (New York Apple Core -- Neumann University) was recently named the Goalie of the Week in the UCHC. This marks the 4th time this season that an EHL alum has claimed this honor.

UCHC Press Release -- Pantalone was outstanding in goal for Neumann in its 3-1 victory over Manhattanville on Friday evening, stopping 46 of 47 shots, as Manhattanville held a 47-26 edge on the shot counter. Pantalone stopped the final 33 shots he faced, including 17 in a frantic third period, while protecting a one-goal lead.

EHL Career -- Pantalone's time in the league was short, as he joined the Apple Core late in the 2017-18 season. However, in four total starts, the '97 native of Hammonton, NJ owned a solid 2.04 GAA to go along with a .920 save percentage.


Ryan Turse (East Coast Wizards/Philadelphia Little Flyers -- Nazareth College) was recently named the Rookie of the Week in the UCHC.

UCHC Press Release -- Turse scored a goal and added three assists for a four-point night in Nazareth’s 5-2 victory over King’s on Sunday evening. He was also plus-2 in the win.

EHL Career -- Turse played out the majority of two seasons in the EHL, lacing it up for a few different teams. Overall, in 50 career games in the EHL, Turse averaged just over a point per game with 18 goals and 33 assists.
