Maryland All-Star Forward Set to Join Hawks this Fall

ODENTON, MD -- Will Rosen, a forward for Team Maryland, has committed to Saint Anselm College for the fall of 2022.

The '01 native of Washington, DC is in his 2nd season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), and first year playing for the team closest to where he grew up. Overall, in 47 career games in the EHL, Rosen has tallied 10 goals and 12 assists to his credit.

"We’re extremely excited for Will; his work ethic, passion, dedication, and more importantly, his leadership is why this young man is succeeding and will continue to succeed throughout his life," said Maryland head coach and general manager Josh Fusco. "Will is the most coachable kid I’ve ever met and it’s awesome to have a local kid come back, trust you to get the job done, and we did. I think it shows to just trust the process and good things happen."

Trusting the process is just what Rosen did, in a special year that also included being named an All-Star and participating in the 1st Annual EHL All-Star Classic.

Just over a month ago, Rosen joined Neil Ravin on the #EShow podcast to talk about that experience, but also his charitable hockey apparel company, Every Shift Hockey.

Looking back Rosen is beyond grateful for the entire experience he's had throughout his time in the league, and he's especially appreciative to the organization that welcomed him in for the final season of his junior hockey career.

"Joining St. Anselm’s program next year is the realization of the dream I have had since I first started playing hockey when I was nine years old," said Rosen. "St. Anselm has the perfect combination for me of academics, athletics, and student life. My visits to campus and conversations with Coach Rocha gave me a great sense that I can succeed both on and off the ice there. I want to thank my parents, my teammates, Coach Fusco and the entire Team Maryland organization for helping me get to this point, as well as all my past coaches and teammates who were there for me along the way. Junior hockey has been a crazy ride, and I am so fortunate to have found a great home for the next four years."

Rosen and Team Maryland return from the holiday break this upcoming Friday, when they kick-off a two-game road set with the New York Apple Core.
