Wolves All-Star Captain Set to Join Colonels this Fall

LACONIA, NH -- Julius Kvandal, a defenseman for the New England Wolves, has committed to Curry College for the fall of 2022.

The '01 native of Stavanger, Norway is in his 2nd season with the Wolves, and through 75 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Kvandal has notched six goals and 38 assists to his credit.

“I am extremely happy for Julius on making his commitment to play at Curry," said Wolves head coach Tim Kunes. "Since I have known him, Julius has been a top performer on our team, a true leader, and a great person as well. This year he has been a top defenseman in our league. I'm very happy to have assisted him in accomplishing his goal of playing college hockey.”

Kvandal was able to return to the EHL this season after the COVID restrictions forced him to stay at home this past year. Back for his age-out campaign, the veteran defenseman was quickly named the Captain of the Wolves, as well as an EHL All-Star for the league's pair of exhibition matchups against Curry and UMass Boston.

It was in that matchup with Curry where Kvandal garnered the school's attention, as he now goes down as the 17th player in league history to choose the Colonels. Kvandal is also the first Curry commit of the 2021-22 season, extending the streak to at least one EHL commitment per year since the league was formed back in 2013.
