Avalanche Forward Climbs Ladder to College Hockey

HOOKSETT, NH -- Conner Murray, a forward for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to Post University for the fall of 2022.

The '01 native of Bedford, NH is in his 3rd season with the Avalanche, and 2nd full year at the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) level, after spending his 1st junior campaign in the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP).

After posting 44 points in 39 total games throughout the 2019-20 season in the EHLP, Murray has collected 10 points in 35 career EHL games to date.

"Conner was a player who developed under us from U18 to EHLP to EHL, and now onto NCAA hockey," said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He followed the steps, didn’t rush the process, and now he’s going off to play college hockey next season. He is going to bring some speed and jam to the Post University lineup. It’s going to be fun to watch him progress over his four-year collegiate hockey career. I wish him and his family the best as he heads to the next chapter."

Murray is the 3rd player to choose Post while playing for the Avalanche this season, as he joins a class that also includes Jake Aloi and David Rankin. Murray is beyond excited to have this decision made and his destination chosen for this upcoming fall.

"I am very proud and excited to announce my commitment to Post University," said Murray. "I have always trusted the Avalanche organization since a young age to get me to where I am today. I would like to give a thank you to my parents, family, teammates and friends for always supporting me along the way. I would like to thank Coach Cerrella, Coach Caligiuri, Coach Soryal, and Coach Martiniello for helping me develop as a player and as an individual, and always believing in me. I cannot wait to join the Eagles next season and to have a great finish with the Avalanche organization."

Part of that great finish that Murray is hoping for includes another trip for the program back to the EHL Frozen Finals. New Hampshire recently took the first step along that path this past week when they secured the top seed in the upcoming North Division playoffs. Next on the list will be making a push for the program's first-ever Regular Season Championship in the EHL.
