Chiefs Forward Set to Join Raiders this Fall

NEWINGTON, CT -- Steve Guo, a forward for the Connecticut Chiefs, has committed to the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) for the fall of 2022.

The '02 native of China is in his 1st season with the Chiefs, and in 36 total Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games to date, Guo has tallied 16 points to his credit.

"What a great fit for both Steve and MSOE," said Chiefs head coach and general manager Greg Heffernan. "Steve is just scratching the surface of what type of player he will be in the future. Coach [Graham] Johnson has great foresight in his recruiting, and with how coachable Steve is he will be a great 4-year asset to MSOE."

Guo is the 1st player in Chiefs history to chose the Raiders' program, and the 20th player in league history. As for as this fall's incoming freshmen class, Guo is one of three EHL players committed to MSOE, as he will become new teammates with Tyler Ebeling of the Protec Jr Ducks and Jack Karges of the Boston Jr Rangers.

"Playing for the Chiefs this year really shaped me into a more well-rounded player and person," said Guo. "Coach Heffernan and Coach Trent [Samuels-Thomas] gave me helpful advice and always pushed me to work hard. It is a great opportunity to join the MSOE, and I couldn’t have achieved this goal without the help from my coaches and teammates.”

Guo and the Chiefs currently sit in 2nd place in the Central Division, which would give Connecticut the home-ice advantage in their future First Round playoff matchup.
