Ducks All-Star Defenseman Set to Join Golden Wolves this Fall

SOMERSET, NJ -- William White, a defenseman for the Protec Jr Ducks, has committed to Alvernia University for the fall of 2022.

The '01 native of Scotch Plains, NJ is in his 2nd season with the Ducks, and in 67 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), White has tallied 25 points to his credit.

"It has been special to see the player that Will has become over the last two years," said Ducks head coach and general manager Terry Watt. "The ceiling is high for this young man, with his size and skating ability, he is going to be a lot to handle for opposing teams at the next level. The Jr. Ducks are thrilled that Will is continuing his hockey career for another four years, and we wish him the best of luck."

White will be advancing onto a new program this fall, as the Golden Wolves are slated to join the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC), one of the most competitive conferences in all of NCAA Division III hockey.

To date this season, White is one of three EHL players that have committed to join Alvernia, as he'll become new teammates with CJ Boyd of the East Coast Wizards and Bobby Geier of Team Maryland this fall.

"My time in the EHL was amazing," said White. "The league has gotten me ready for the college level, both on and off the ice, and has allowed me to grow as a player. My time with Protec has been great; it has been a truly awesome experience creating a powerhouse organization and making lifelong friends along the way. I will be attending Alvernia University in the fall, and I am excited to help build a program there and hope to win a National Championship."

The EHL All-Star has big aspirations for the program that he will be helping launch this fall. However, prior to arriving on campus, White will look to lead his current team on a deep playoff run, and hopefully leave one final stamp on his time in the EHL.
