Avalanche All-Star Forward Set to Join Nor'Easters this Fall

HOOKSETT, NH -- Michael Tersoni, a forward for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to the University of New England (UNE) for the fall of 2022.

The '01 native of Framingham, MA came to Avalanche for his final season of junior hockey, and in 42 total Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games to date, Tersoni has tallied 27 goals and 37 assists to his credit.

"Mike played for Tilton Prep and then spent last season in the USPHL," said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerella. "He chose the Avalanche for his age-out year, and has had a great season so far. He had a lot of tough choices to make in this college hockey process and he finally chose a nationally-ranked program in the University of New England. I am very proud of Mike and wish him and his family the best of luck in the future."

Tersoni is the 2nd player in Avalanche history to choose UNE, and the 15th player in league history. The talented scorer got off to a hot start to the year and was instantly recognized with an All-Star honor back in October. That experience against a pair of NCAA Division III opponents, along with this season as a whole, has been beyond beneficial for Tersoni and he feels very grateful to the Avalanche and the EHL.

"I’m really excited to be joining such a well-respected institution and top-tier hockey program next season at UNE," said Tersoni. "I’d like to thank all my coaches and teammates for their help along the way. I have really enjoyed playing for the Avalanche and in the EHL this year. Coach Cerrella did a lot to help me get to this point.  I also want especially thank my family for supporting me throughout my journey."

Tersoni and the Avalanche have three regular season games remaining to try and win their first EHL Regular Season Championship in franchise history. From there the goal is simple, with their sights set on Providence, RI, and revenge at the 2022 EHL Frozen Finals.
