NEWINGTON, CT -- Jack Devine, a forward for the Connecticut Chiefs, has committed to Saint Anselm College for the fall of 2022.

The '02 native of East Greenwich, RI is playing out his 1st season of junior hockey with the Connecticut Chiefs, and through 40 total Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games to date, Devine has tallied 15 goals and 34 assists to his credit.

"Jack is a dynamic player who is just coming into his own," said Chiefs head coach and general manager Greg Heffernan. "He is a great person who will thrives at Saint A’s. Coach [Larry] Rocha runs a first-class hockey program and I think he is going to be very happy to have a player with Jack’s skill-set for the next 4 years."

Speaking of Coach Rocha, the Head Coach of the Hawks has put together a strong incoming freshmen class for the fall of 2022, one that now includes seven total players throughout the EHL. Alongside his current teammate Tim Duffy, Devine will join up with Matt Herrick from the New Jersey 87sWill Rosen from Team MarylandJohn Myers from the New York Apple Core, and Garrett Alberti and Tucker Hanson from the Valley Jr Warriors.

"I am very excited to be attending Saint Anselm College this coming fall," said Devine. "I would like to thank my family and friends and all my teammates and coaches who have encouraged me throughout this long journey and have contributed to me reaching this goal. I’d like to thank Coach Heffernan for all he has done for me. Coming into the year he told me he would do everything he could to get me to where I wanted to be. He has not only done that for me, but also for many of my teammates, still with more to come. Thank you also to Coach Rocha for giving me the opportunity to be a Hawk. Saint Anselm has exactly what I was looking for in a school, with a nice campus, a great sense of community, and an opportunity to continue to grow as a student and an athlete. I cannot wait to see what the next four years bring.”

Devine and the Chiefs have just one final regular season game remaining, as they play host to the Railers Jr Hockey Club this afternoon at 2:20 pm.

Following the matchup with the top-seed in the Central Division, the #2-seed Chiefs will get set for their First Round playoff showdown with the in-state rival Connecticut RoughRiders.
