EHL MVP and Record HolderĀ Set to Join Foresters this Fall

NORWALK, CT -- Colin Bella, a forward for the Connecticut RoughRiders, has committed to Lake Forest College for the fall of 2022.

The '01 native of Norwalk, CT recently finished his 3rd and final season with the RoughRiders, ending his outstanding junior hockey career with 92 goals and 87 assists, for a total of 187 points in 130 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

In terms of the All-Time Record Book, a combination of regular season and postseason statistics, Bella finishes 2nd in points and 1st in goals scored. As for the Regular Season Record book, pulling statistics from just a player's regular season totals, he remains 2nd and 1st once again in each respective category, but he also set a new mark this year for the most goals in a single campaign with 47.

“Colin is a deadly accurate sniper with a laser for a shot; he can simply break open a game," said RoughRiders head coach and general manager Eric Lind. "He is great at using his speed to create offense in transition and off the rush. I am excited to see him play at the colligate level."

When the 2021-22 Most Valuable Player arrives at the next level this fall, he will reunite with a pair of former teammates in Tyler Buonopane and Connor Sullivan. Overall, Bella is the 16th player in league history to choose Lake Forest.

While this season's playoff run for Bella and the RoughRiders fell shorter than they had hoped, the record-setting scorer can still look back on what turned out to be three tremendous years in the EHL. His name sits at the top across the board, and most importantly for him, he surpassed his brother's 40-goal season from the 2019-20 campaign.
