Chiefs All-Star Forward Set to Join Eagles this Fall

NEWINGTON, CT -- Justin Harshaw, a forward for the Connecticut Chiefs, has committed to Post University for the fall of 2022.

The '01 native of Davie, FL chose the Chiefs for his final season of junior hockey, and through 45 total Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games to date, Harshaw has collected 15 goals and 25 assists to his credit.

"Justin is one of the most responsible players I have ever coached," said Chiefs head coach and general manager Greg Heffernan. "He is offensively gifted and creates so much for his teammates. Coach [Pete] Whitney and Coach [Tim] Richter are going to love having him for the next 4 years."

Harshaw goes in the books as the 24th player in league history to choose Post, and 6th from the current 2021-22 season. Overall, Harshaw is beyond grateful that his decision to come to the Chiefs, led to this moment.

"Thank you to the Chiefs organization for an amazing experience this year," said Harshaw. "Thank you to Coach Heffernan for all his guidance and experience in helping me and allowing me to develop as a hockey player and a human. Thank you for growing my confidence and believing in me. Thank you to Coach Whitney and Coach Richter for giving me this tremendous opportunity to grow academic and athletically at Post University. Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, and friends who have helped me get to where I am today. Go Eagles!"

Harshaw and the Chiefs trail 1-0 in the Central Division Finals, with game #2 against the Railers Jr Hockey Club scheduled for Friday morning at 11:15 am in Newington, CT.
