Express Forward Set to Join Purple Knights this Fall

WALPOLE, MA -- Jake Lincourt, a forward for the Express Hockey Club, has committed to Saint Michael's College (SMC) for the fall of 2022.

The '01 native of Smithfield, RI spent two seasons with the Express, tallying 14 points in 52 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

"I am very excited for Jake to receive this opportunity,” said former Express head coach Josh Holmstrom. "Jake works very hard and overcame a lot in his two seasons with us. Whether it was dealing with injuries or moving around in the lineup, Jake always gave it everything he had. I believe Jake’s best hockey is still ahead of him, and I am looking forward to watching him play college hockey.”

Lincourt is part of five-player class heading off to SMC this fall, one which also includes his Express teammate Ashton Allain. Lincourt and Allain will join up with Nico Giannetti and Jake Leale from the Connecticut RoughRiders, and Matthew Tauriainen from the Valley Jr Warriors when they arrive on campus this fall.

"As soon as I walked on campus, St. Michaels felt like home," said Lincourt. "Finding a small school with an academic program that fit my needs was very important. It's also a great conference [Northeast-10], and I am excited to get started this fall.”

Lincourt went on to talk about his time in Walpole with the Express, and how this period of his life ultimately led to this moment.

"The coaching staff and my teammates created an environment where everyone was held accountable," added Lincourt. "All the adversity in my two seasons really helped me grow as a player and as a person."
