Philly Hockey Club Forward Set to Join Lakers Next Fall

SEWELL, NJ -- Lex Friesen, a forward for the Philadelphia Hockey Club (PHC), has committed to SUNY Oswego for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of Canada joined PHC a couple weeks ago, and through four Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games to date, Friesen has tallied a pair of points (1g, 1a) to his credit.

"Lex brings a calming presence to our lineup and to our bench," said PHC head coach and general manager Jeff Perreault. "He leads by example and his Junior A experience is a tremendous asset in our locker room. His 200-foot game that stretches through all three zones speaks for itself and will translate really well to Oswego."

Friesen is the 4th player in league history to choose Oswego, but also the 165th player in league history to commit to a school in the
State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). The SUNYAC is regarded as one of the top conferences in all of NCAA Division III hockey.

With the weight of this commitment already off of his shoulders, Friesen can now turn his full attention towards his development throughout the rest of the 2022-23 season.

Friesen and his PHC teammates are off to a 5-4-1 start in their first 10 games of the year, and they find themselves right in the thick of things in the South Division.
