Pray, Madden, and Kulhanek Lead EHL All-Star Teams

BOSTON, MA -- Cross another event off of the list, as this past weekend featured the 5th Annual edition of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) College Series. While the EHL was facing off against a trio of NCAA Division III opponents, the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) was fully in action with a number of games on the schedule.

Below you'll find the 6th set of weekly top performers for the 2022-23 season. The forward and defensemen awards are presented by Verbero Hockey, while the goalie honors come courtesy of Vaughn Custom Sports.

EHL STARS OF THE WEEK #6

The EHL is pleased to announce that William Pray (Seacoast Spartans), Tommy Madden (Philadelphia Hockey Club) and Stefan Kulhanek (Railers Jr. Hockey Club) have been named the Top Performers for Week #6.

Starting things off with Pray, the leading scorer in the EHL showed up in a big way last weekend in New York. During regulation time, the '02 native of Wheaton, IL tallied a goal and an assist to his credit. Pray also found the back of the net in the shootout against Nazareth College on Friday, as he kept the game alive in the 3rd round, which ultimately helped lead to Team EHL's 2nd-ever victory over a college program.

With 21 points through 10 total games to date, Pray is off to a scorching pace in his age-out season of junior hockey. He will now look to take the momentum of his college series experience into the four games that remain on the schedule between now and the November Showcase.

Shifting South for the top defenseman of the week, and Madden tallied a pair of points of his own in the South All-Stars 5-4 overtime loss at the hands of Lebanon Valley College on Saturday night. PHC was well-represented with five all-stars on the team, three of which (including Madden) scored in the exhibition matchup.

The '03 native of Brighton, MI played in a big role in the South All-Stars' comeback effort to force overtime against the Dutchmen. Similar to Pray, Madden will look to build off of this experience, as he returns to action with PHC, in one of the toughest divisions in the league.

Wrapping things up in goal, Kulhanek got the nod during the 2nd period against Nazareth on Friday, and then started the matchup with SUNY Brockport on Saturday. Overall, the '02 native of Austria turned aside all 24 shots he faced in and even 40 minutes of work between the pipes.

Kulhanek and the Railers return to EHL game action on Thursday, when they play host to the New Hampshire Avalanche at 11:30 am.

EHLP STARS OF THE WEEK #6

The EHLP is pleased to announce that Atticus Beane (Seahawks Hockey Club), Cam Arakelian (Boston Jr. Rangers), and Aidan Healey (Railers Jr. Hockey Club) have been named the Top Performers for Week #6.

Beane and the Seahawks hit the ice for a pair of games over the past week, earning victories over the Express Hockey Club and the New England Wolves to improve their record up to 5-4-1 for the year. As for the '02 native of Arlington, VA, Beane scored a pair of goals to go along with three assists, as he's now tallied at least a point in five straight games.

Overall, Beane has 18 points in 10 total games to date, which matches his total production for the entire 2021-22 regular season. Beane will look to officially surpass that mark with a matchup against the Rangers tomorrow morning at 10:10 am.

Speaking of the Rangers, Arakelian and his teammates also won a pair of games this past weekend, sweeping their two-game series with the Express. As for the '03 native of Worcester, MA, Arakelian tallied seven total points to his credit by scoring a goal to go along with six assists.

For the season, the 2nd-year defenseman now has 14 points in eight total games to date, which doubles the seven points that he racked up combined between the regular season and the postseason last year.

Putting a bow on things between the pipes, and giving the Railers both goaltending honors this week, Healey pitched a shutout in his team's only contest this past weekend. The '03 native of Marshfield, MA turned aside all 19 shots he faced against the Connecticut Chiefs, en route to his 2nd shutout of the year and 5th victory.

Overall, Healey now owns a mark of 5-1-1, to go along with a 1.68 GAA and a .935 save percentage. Similar to Beane and the Seahawks, the Railers next matchup puts Worcester up against the Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
