#EShow Releases Second Set of Monthly Honors for 2022-23 Season

BOSTON, MA -- We've officially crossed off two months of the 2022-23 season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP).

Below you'll find the 2nd set of monthly award winners in the #EShow. The forward and defenseman awards are presented by Verbero Hockey, while the goalie recognition comes courtesy of Vaughn Custom Sports.

EHL STARS OF THE MONTH

The EHL is pleased to announce that Victor Daigneault (Vermont Lumberjacks), Kieran Chung (Connecticut RoughRiders), Louis Finnegan (Philadelphia Little Flyers) have been named the October Stars of the Month.

Daigneault and the Lumberjacks posted a record of 7-2-0 over the course of their nine games throughout the month of October. Despite both losses coming at the hands of the Railers Jr. Hockey Club, Vermont can be proud of the five wins they earned over North Division opponents throughout the month.

As for the '02 Canadian forward, Daigneault went off in October, posting 17 total points to his credit. As the season has now officially turned over to November, the Lumberjacks' captain currently ranks 5th on the overall league scoring chart, with 21 points in 13 total games to date. After joining Vermont part of the way through the 2020-21 season, Daigneault has gotten better and better throughout his time in the EHL. With 92 regular season points to his name as of today, Daigneault is approaching the 100-point plateau, and if he repeats what he did in October then he will reach that milestone very quickly.

Speaking of players that have displayed a consistent level of improvement throughout their time in the EHL, Chung has done just that with the RoughRiders. Despite winning just a pair of games in October, Chung and his teammates already kicked off November on the right foot by earning a victory over the Little Flyers this afternoon.

As for what the '04 native of England did this past month, Chung averaged over a point per game, scoring a pair of goals to go along with six assists to his credit. Overall, the young defenseman has 11 points through 14 total games to date, which puts him on a great pace to surpass the 35 total points he racked up this past year.

Wrapping things up with another multi-year player, Finnegan and the Little Flyers won five games throughout the month of October, with the 2nd-year netminder earning a trio of those victories. To help make those three victories stand out even further Finnegan owned stellar marks of a 1.70 GAA and a .942 save percentage.

For the season, Finnegan now has a record of 5-3-0, and the great month of October helped decrease his overall GAA down to 2.92 for the year and increase his save percentage up to .919.

EHLP STARS OF THE MONTH

The EHLP is pleased to announce that Ryan Arendes (Pennsylvania Huntsmen), Cam Arakelian (Boston Jr. Rangers), and Ty Jones (Pennsylvania Huntsmen) have been named the October Stars of the Month.

Arendes, Jones, and the Huntsmen posted a record of 9-1-1 in the month of October, as Pennsylvania turned heads and raced their way to the top of the Mid-Atlantic Division standings.

Starting with the '04 forward (Arendes) from Gambrills, MD, the leading scorer in the EHLP currently owns a seven-point advantage over the next closest player after collecting 13 goals and 11 assists to his credit in the month of October. Overall, the junior hockey rookie now has 31 total points in just 15 games to date, which equals out to an incredible 2.07 points per game average.

As for the fellow '04 between the pipes (Jones), the native of Antioch, IL earned six of the nine victories that his team racked up, including his first two shutouts of the year. Overall, the near-perfect month of October (6-1-0) improved Jones' record up to 8-2-0 for the season, to go along with a 3.28 GAA and a .910 save percentage.

Capping things off with a returning player, and a defending champion in that, Arakelian and the Rangers were undefeated in regulation during the month of October. Boston's 8-0-1 record was far and the away the best mark in the league, and is a big reason why the team currently sits at the top of the league standings with overall record of 12-1-1 in 14 total games to date.

As for the '03 native of Worcester, MA, Arakelian currently leads all EHLP defensemen in scoring after tallying 14 total points to his credit throughout this past month. Overall, Arakelian's 15 total points to date is already more than double the number of total points he posted throughout the entire 2021-22 campaign combined between the regular season and the postseason.
