BOSTON, MA -- We've reached one of the busiest stretches of the season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP), as all 34 teams look to end 2022 on a high note and hit the holiday break with momentum on their side.

Below you'll find the 11th/12th set of weekly top performers for the 2022-23 season. The forward and defensemen awards are presented by Verbero Hockey, while the goalie honors come courtesy of Vaughn Custom Sports.

EHL STARS OF THE WEEK #11 AND #12

The EHL is pleased to announce that Kyle Folkerson (New Jersey 87's), Rocco Seery (East Coast Wizards), and Gary Mandia (HC Rhode Island) have been named the Top Performers for Week #11 and #12.

Folkerson and the 87's split their pair of South Division matchups this past week, winning on the road against the Protec Jr. Ducks on Thursday, and then dropping a one-goal contest at the hands of Team Maryland on Friday. As for the '02 native of Canada, Folkerson tallied five total points to his credit over the course of the two games, registering a goal and four assists. For the season, Folkerson now has 17 total points in 23 games to date, and he's currently riding a five-game point streak.

With a record of 13-7-3, New Jersey currently finds themself in 2nd place in the South Division, one point behind the Ducks for the top spot, but with two games in hand. Folkerson and the 87's will look to leap frog the Ducks this weekend, when they hit the ice for a home-and-home series against the Philadelphia Hockey Club (PHC).

Seery and the Wizards hit the ice for just a single game this past week, but they made it count by knocking off the New Hampshire Avalanche by a final score of 4-3 on Friday afternoon. As for '02 native of Bloomingdale, IL, the all-star defenseman notched a goal and an assist to his credit, increasing his point total up to 11 for the year. After tallying 11 total points through 43 games this past year combined between the regular season and postseason, Seery has already matched that production level in half of the time this year.

With an overall record of 9-8-4, Seery and the Wizards find themselves right in the thick of things in the East Division standings. East Coast will look to build on their current playoff position with three games remaining between now and the holiday break, as they hit the ice for a rematch with the Avalanche, and then take on PHC and the Ducks next week at the Newington Showcase.

Wrappings things up in goal, and Mandia stood tall for Rhode Island in over 100 minutes of action this past weekend against the New England Wolves. The '03 native of Franklin, MA entered Saturday night's contest in relief, and in just over 43 minutes of play, Mandia stopped all 30 shots that were sent his way.

Fast forward to Sunday, and the perfect relief appearance led to Mandia getting the start, and 39-save encore winning performance helped Rhode Island split the home-and-home series. Overall, Mandia stopped 69 of the 72 shots he faced over the course of the weekend, lowering his GAA down to 3.29 and increasing his save percentage up to .914 for the year. Mandia and his teammates have four games of their own remaining between now and the start of the holiday break.

With the pair of wins, Valley improved their record up to 12-7-3 for the season, as they find themselves currently in sole possession of 3rd place in their division. Parker will look to stay hot down the stretch towards the holiday break, as the Warriors have five games remaining before the turn of the calendar year.

Putting a bow on things between the pipes, and staying in the same division, the Boston Jr. Rangers split their pair of games this past weekend, with Mutschler getting the nod for the shutout against the New England Wolves on Saturday night. The shutout was the first of the season for the '03 native of Mechanicsburg, PA. For the year, Mutschler now owns a record of 6-1-0 to go along with a 1.76 GAA and a .943 save percentage.
