The EHL is pleased to announce that Ethan Roach (East Coast Wizards), Devon Jolley (Team Maryland), and Nathan Kirschenbaum (Protec Jr. Ducks) have been named the Top Performers for Week #16.

Roach the Wizards picked up three out of a possible four points in their opening pair of games in 2023. After beating the Seacoast Spartans by a 5-1 margin this past Friday, the Wizards fell in the shootout at the hands of the Seahawks Hockey Club yesterday afternoon. As for the '02 native of Boca Raton, FL, Roach collected five points on three goals and two assists over the course of the two games.

Looking ahead, it's a busy upcoming week for the Wizards as they travel to take on the Vermont Lumberjacks on Tuesday, and then get set for matchups against the Connecticut RoughRiders, Lumberjacks again, and New Hampshire Avalanche at the Exeter Showcase. In total, the Wizards are in the middle of a 10-game month of January, one in which they will look to lean on Roach and some of the other leading scorers on the team.

On the blue line, Jolley and Team Maryland took the ice for just one game this past week, but they also skated away victoriously on Friday. In a 5-3 victory over the Philadelphia Little Flyers, the '02 native of Massena, NY notched a three-point game by scoring once and collecting a pair of assists to his credit. Overall, Jolley now has 11 points through 28 total games to date, which is already more than double the production that the veteran defenseman finished with throughout the course of the entire 2021-22 campaign (five points).

Coming up this weekend in New Hampshire, Jolley and his teammates will hit the ice for matchups against the New England Wolves, Spartans, and Valley Jr. Warriors, in the final league-wide showcase of the season.

Wrapping things up in goal, Kirschenbaum improved his record up to a perfect 3-0-0 mark with the Ducks, after earning the victory over the New Jersey 87's this past Friday. In total, the '02 native of Scarsdale, NY turned aside 25 of the 26 shots he faced increasing his overall numbers up to 85 saves on 88 shots since he joined Protec back in mid-December.

The win was big for Kirschenbaum and the Ducks, as they are battling with the 87's at the top of the South Division standings. Following a mid-week matchup with the Connecticut RoughRiders, Protec will get set for showcase games against the Express Hockey Club, Boston Jr. Rangers, and Seahawks.

The EHLP is pleased to announce that Devon Salone (Adirondack Jr. Thunder), Dylan Cornatzer (New Jersey 87's), and Ty Jones (Pennsylvania Huntsmen) have been named the Top Performers for Week #16.

Salone and the Thunder took care of business by winning a pair overtime games this past weekend against the New Hampshire Avalanche. The four-point series helped Adirondack improve their record up to 16-6-5 for the year, and their 37 total points currently places them in 2nd place in the New England Division standings.

As for the '03 native of Queensbury, NY, Salone tallied five points over the course of the season, scoring three goals to go along with a pair of assists. Included in his tallies were a game-winning goal, a power play goal, and a short-handed goal. Overall, Salone now has 20 total points through 17 games to date.

Coming up this weekend, he'll look to keep the production rolling, as Adirondack takes on the Philadelphia Little Flyers, the Railers Jr. Hockey Club, and the Connecticut Chiefs, at the final league-wide showcase of the season.

Speaking of weekend sweeps, Cornatzer and the 87's also accomplished the feat, by earning victories over the Connecticut Chiefs on Saturday and the New Jersey Renegades on Sunday. As for the '04 native of Cumming, GA, Cornatzer collected back-to-back two-assist games, increasing his point total up to 19 for the year.

The two-win weekend helped the 87's match the pace set by the Huntsmen, who also claimed two victories and four points to their credit. The Mid-Atlantic Division rivals continue to be separated by just a single point at the top of the standings.

Speaking of the Huntsmen, and keeping with the trend of weekend sweeps, Pennsylvania collected their own over the Union Jr. Thunder this past weekend. As for the '04 native of Antioch, IL, Jones got the start in one game and came on in relief in the second contest, earning his 12th and 13th victories of the season.

Jones turned aside 45 of the 48 shots he faced, improving his record up to 13-6-0 for the season, to go along with a 3.45 GAA and a .902 save percentage.

Both Mid-Atlantic teams will surely be keeping tabs on each other this weekend, as the 87's take on the Express Hockey Club, Railers, and Boston Jr. Rangers, while the Huntsmen battle with the Rangers and Railers.
