Chiefs All-Star Forward Set to Join Hawks this Fall

NEWINGTON, CT -- Hunter Rossi, a forward for the Connecticut Chiefs, has committed to Saint Anselm College for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of Long Island, NY is in his second season with the Chiefs organization, and over the course of 78 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Rossi has notched 68 total points to his credit.

"We are so happy for Hunter and are confident that he has a bright future ahead of him with the Hawks," said Chiefs head coach and general manager Greg Heffernan. "His success is not by accident, he continues to work hard and prove himself as a powerful and consistent forward. His character and leadership skills are just as impressive as his on-ice accomplishments."

With Rossi's commitment, the Connecticut pipeline to St. A's continues to grow, as the veteran forward will reunite with both Jack Devine and Tim Duffy from the 2021-22 Chiefs team when he arrives on campus in the fall.

"I’m extremely excited to have committed to St. Anselm and want to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches I’ve had along the way," said Rossi. "Thank you to Coach Heffernan for everything he has done for me the past two years, I would not be here without him. I’m very grateful for the opportunity that Coach [Larry] Rocha has given me and can’t wait to attend such a great school."

Rossi and the Chiefs are currently tied with HC Rhode Island for 2nd place in the Central Division standings. Both teams have 15 regular season games remaining on their respective schedules, with Rossi and the Chiefs hitting the ice next on Tuesday when they host the Express Hockey Club at 12:30 pm.
