New York Unveils Green Uniform at January Showcase

BREWSTER, NY -- The New York Apple Core is happy to announce the celebration of 30 years of junior hockey for the organization. The Apple Core was founded in 1992 by Bob Santini who was always a presence in the hockey community.

'Head Apple' Bob has been a fixture of hockey in New York and was even the founder of the New York Catholic High School League that also celebrated an anniversary this year, marking its 50th season.

The Apple Core has been involved in many leagues from the day they debuted as an organization, to the present day, with the same goal in mind to push players to the next level in their respective hockey careers.

As they look back on thirty years, the Apple Core would like to share their appreciation and gratitude for all players, staff members, and league administrators whom they have met and worked with over the years. They also would like to pay notice to all of the successes they've accomplished, starting off with the early success in winning two National Jr. B Championships in 1996 and 2010, as well as the EJHL Triple Crown in 2003.

To top that, the Apple Core would also like recognize all of their alumni, as each and every one has played a huge part in making a name for the Apple Core as one of the top junior programs on the east coast.

It’s safe to say the Apple Core name is known throughout the hockey world since their debut at Long Beach Arena, to the current home at Brewster Ice Arena.

Apple Core has serviced the local player pool for years and has been proactive in developing new ideas for player development. The Apple Core MET team, which plays in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League, molded many players for the EHL. Many of our heroes started on the MET team as young players. They benefited from the excellent instruction and practices which are provided. Many of those players have also moved up through the ranks of hockey.

With their 30th Anniversary, the Apple Core are happy to unveil their 30th Anniversary logo and their third/alternate jersey, sponsored by RCJ Welding a local business. RCJ Welding is a local vendor out of Carmel, NY. The Apple Core wanted to look back on the years for their 30th Anniversary jersey, so they went the throwback route. The green jersey with red pants looks clean on the ice and pays homage to the original look that made the Apple Core who they are today.

Also, as part of the celebration for NYA, the front office staff put together their own 'All-Time Team', throughout their 30-year history.

Please join the EHL in congratulating the New York Apple Core on 30 years of junior hockey success, both on and off the ice.
