EHL STARS OF THE WEEK #21

The EHL is pleased to announce that Charles Lavoie (New Jersey 87's), Eddie Mulligan (Seacoast Spartans), and Greyson Pane (Valley Jr. Warriors) have been named the Top Performers for Week #21.

Lavoie and the 87's swept their pair of games this past week, beating the Connecticut RoughRiders by the score of 6-1 on Thursday and then following up that performance with a 7-1 victory over the New York Apple Core on Friday. As for the '02 native of Canada, Lavoie set the pace for his team offensively by tallying five total points over the course of the two games, scoring three times to go along with a pair of assists. For the season, the EHL All-Star now has 39 points in 42 total games to date.

New Jersey is in a battle with the Protec Jr. Ducks at the top of the South Division standings. With a record of 24-13-5, New Jersey currently holds a two-point lead over Protec for the top spot, with four games apiece remaining on each respective regular season schedule. It's worth pointing out that the final two games on each team's schedule are against each other on February 23rd and 28th at Mennan Sports Arena (Ducks' home rink).

While the New Hampshire Avalanche are on the verge of winning their first-ever EHL Regular Season Championship, Mulligan and the Spartans are not going down without a fight, as Seacoast has now won four straight contests to close the gap. The recent streak for the Spartans includes three wins from this past week, in which Mulligan scored a goal in each contest and added an assist.

For the season, the '02 native of Lincoln, RI has 25 points in 39 total games, and that includes five points in his first six games with the Spartans. Coming up next for the Spartans is a matchup with the Valley Jr. Warriors this afternoon. Regardless of the Avalanche controlling their own destiny towards the Regular Season title and the top spot in the North Division, the recent stretch for Seacoast has helped the Spartans create a little cushion for themselves over the New England Wolves for the #2 seed in the upcoming playoffs.

Speaking of the Warriors, Valley continues to chug along as one of the hottest teams in the EHL, after splitting their pair of games this past week. Dating back to the second day of the Newington Showcase, the Warriors have posted a record of 10-4-0 in 14 total games. The recent surge has Valley hopeful they can secure home-ice in the Play-In Round in their division, and maybe even climb all the way up to the #3 seed.

As for the '03 native of Grasse Pointe Park, MI, Pane got the nod in his team's game against the Express Hockey Club this past Friday. the young netminder didn't disappoint turning aside all 26 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season. Since joining the Warriors following the holiday break, Pane owns a record of 3-1-0 to go along with a 2.19 GAA and a .934 save percentage.

Magyar and the Avalanche swept their pair of games this past weekend beating the Seahawks Hockey Club by the score of 8-3 on Thursday and the Valley Jr. Warriors by a 4-1 margin on Saturday. The '03 native of Tampa, FL tallied a goal and an assist in each contest for New Hampshire.

At 23-12-4, Magyar and the Avalanche are right in the thick of things in the New England Division standings, with just three games remaining on their regular season schedule.

Wrapping things up in goal, Beaulieu and the Warriors actually split their pair of games this past week, with the '04 native of Lawrence, MA getting the nod between the pipes for Valley's 2-1 victory over the Railers Jr. Hockey Club this past Wednesday. Beaulieu was simply spectacular in the contest, turning aside 57 of the 58 shots he faced, en route to his 8th win of the season.

For the year, Beaulieu no owns a record of 8-8-3 to go along with a 3.46 GAA and a .913 save percentage.
