Philly HC Defenseman Set to Join Trailblazers this Fall

SEWELL, NJ -- Colin Ogborn, a defenseman for the Philadelphia Hockey Club (PHC), has committed to the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) for the fall of 2023.

The '03 native of Linwood, NJ is in his second season with PHC, which is the program's first in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). To date this year, Ogborn has notched nine points to his credit through 39 total games.

“I couldn’t be more proud as a coach watching the improvement Colin made in just one season," said PHC head coach and general manager Jeff Perreault. "I challenged Colin to use his skill set and size to play more efficiently and with more discipline before the season, and he answered the bell. MCLA was Colin’s first choice and his hard work, both on and off the ice, has paid off. Coach [Jeremiah] Ketts is getting a quality hockey player and an even better person to help jumpstart his program.”

Speaking of jumpstarting the program, Ogborn is part of a seven-player class that the EHL will be sending off to MCLA this fall. When he arrives on campus, Ogborn will become new teammates with Addam Brunner of the Express Hockey Club, Josh Romanowski of the Connecticut Chiefs, and. both Walter Brown V and Christian Nawrocki from Connecticut RoughRiders, and Matt Gover and Cody White from the East Coast Wizards.

"I’m very excited to announce my commitment to the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts to continue my academic and athletic career," said Ogborn. "I’d first like to thank my family for all they’ve done for me and would also like to thank Coach Perreault, Coach, Bartholomay, Coach Voce, and Coach Postiglione for all they’ve done for me throughout the years. I’m extremely grateful for these past years spent here at Hollydell and couldn’t be more excited to get to work for Coach Ketts and his staff! Go Trailblazers!"

Ogborn and PHC are right in the thick of things in the South Division standings, fighting to avoid the upcoming Play-In Round.
