Wizards Second-Year Forward Set to Join New Program this Fall

BEDFORD, MA -- Cody White, a forward for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of Orange, CT is in his second season with the Wizards, and through 77 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), White has tallied 31 total points to his credit. That point total includes a huge increase this season, as he has backed-up an eight-point campaign in 2021-22 with 23 points to date in 2022-23.

“As a staff, we are really excited about Cody’s commitment to MCLA," said Wizards head coach and general manager Kory Falite. "He’s worked extremely hard over the last two years with the Wizards, both on and off the ice. He’s always the first one at the rink and his teammates honored his commitment by naming him an assistant captain this season. We wish him all the best in the future.”

MCLA is re-introducing their men’s hockey program at the Division III level beginning in the fall of 2023, after folding the team in 2003. White joins six other current EHL players as part of the inaugural roster of the new era of Trailblazers hockey. Included in White's group of future teammates is one of his current teammates, Matt Gover.

“I want to thank all of my coaches and teammates for pushing me every day to be the best player I can be,” said White. “To my family, thank you for always supporting me and doing everything possible to help me get better both on and off the ice. I especially want to thank Coach [Jeremiah] Ketts for giving me the opportunity to fulfill my lifelong dream of playing college hockey. I’m so excited to be a Trailblazer!”

White the Wizards have seven games remaining on their regular season schedule, as they battle to avoid the Play-In Round of the upcoming East Division Playoffs.
