Avalanche Forward Set to Join Jumbos in Fall of 2024

HOOKSETT, NH -- Rory Andriole, a forward for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to Tufts University for the fall of 2023.

The '03 native of Branford, CT came to the Avalanche for his first season of junior hockey, and to date this year, Andriole has tallied 25 total points over the course of 39 games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

"Rory has done a great job in his first season with us," said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "His dream was to attend Tufts University where he could continue his academic and athletic career, and he achieved that goal. He will be returning to play for us in the EHL where he can continue to grow and develop, both on and off the ice. I am very proud of Rory and I look forward to coaching him again next season."

With this decision now official, Andriole knows exactly what lies ahead for him. The weight off of his shoulders will allow him to play 'stress-free' for the rest of this season, and all of next year, as he prepares to take the next step to the college ranks.

"I have always strived to perform well both academically and athletically," said Andriole. "I am very excited to attend Tufts University and to fulfill my dream of studying at such a prestigious school while also playing college hockey. I’d like to thank my mom, dad, and brothers for being my biggest supporters and would also like to thank Coach Cerrella, Coach Novador, and Coach Zavisza for helping me grow as a person and a player."

Andriole and the Avalanche have three games remaining on their regular season schedule, all set to be played this upcoming week. With just two points, the Avalanche would secure their first-ever EHL Regular Season Championship in franchise history.
