The '02 native of Wall, NJ is in his third season with the 87's program, and second full year at the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) level. DeMarinis' junior hockey career began at the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) level back in the 2020-21 season.

That year of DeMarinis' career was a great start to his tenure with the 87's program, as he tallied an even 36 points in 36 games, including a pair of assists in the 2021 EHLP Championship Game victory over the Railers Jr. Hockey Club.

“Pat came to us when we had the 87’s EHL team established, practiced with us a couple of times and then joined us the following year, and watching his progression to get to the NCAA level has been tremendous," said 87's head coach and general manager Adam Houli. “He’s a kid that truly believed in what we did. was one of the first kids in the local area to really see us for who we are and what we can do, and now he’s one of the few kids in the local area to play NCAA hockey."

As Houli mentioned, the 87's program instilled patience with DeMarinis, as along with his time in the EHLP, he also played games at the 18U level. Ultimately, the process led to this commitment, and DeMarinis is very proud of his decision.

“Committing to college to play NCAA hockey has been a goal of mine for a very long time," said DeMarinis. "It feels amazing to finally be rewarded for all the sacrifices I made for this goal. St. Anselm just finished first in the NE-10 [Regular Season Champions] and have had a long successful history in the NCAA, so getting the opportunity to go to a school like that is something I couldn't pass up.”

DeMarinis went on to talk about the development he has received while with the 87's program.

“It was the end of my U16 season when I first started practicing with the 87’s," added DeMarinis. "I still remember my first few practices I had felt like I got more out of them than my entire season up to that point. Both coaches, Adam Houli and Matt Kiernan, have helped me drastically improve on the ice. The culture they have built with the 87's is nothing like anything I've ever been a part of before. You're best is expected day in and day out as they will push you to achieve your goals. Developing here with the New Jersey 87’s, moving up through the teams has been a challenging but rewarding process, and I’d want nothing more than to bring home another championship for the program that has done so much for me.”

Since becoming a full-time player for the 87's at the EHL level, DeMarinis has notched 37 points in 75 total games, and played a key role in the team's run to last year's EHL title.

Despite already owning both an EHL and an EHLP Championship ring, DeMarinis would surely love to add a third title to his junior hockey resume before things come to a close.
