Lumberjacks Forward Set to Join Roos this Fall

BURLINGTON, VT -- Robert Voss, a forward for the Vermont Lumberjacks, has committed to SUNY Canton for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of Norwood, NY is in his second season with the Lumberjacks' program, having spent a year apiece in both the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP).

To date in his career, Voss has tallied 31 points in 39 total games in the EHL, and 44 points in 46 total games in the EHLP.

"Bobby is a great example in the league of a player who began his junior career on our Premier team, then developed his game which allowed him to seamlessly make the transition to the EHL," said Lumberjacks head coach Seth Gustin. "Bobby is a player who can do a little bit of everything, playing in various situations while displaying his passion for the game. It has truly been an honor to coach Bobby and watch him grow as a player and person, I’m so proud of him. We are all looking forward to his continued success and wish him the best of luck!”

Voss is the second EHL player to commit to SUNY Canton so far this season, joining Scott Cremen from Team Maryland. Overall, he's the 20th player in league history to choose the Roos program and 12th player in Lumberjacks' history to commit to a school in the SUNYAC.

For Voss, committing to a school that's less than 30 minutes from his hometown was a dream come true, and he gives Vermont all the credit for helping make it all possible.

“Being a Lumberjack has been an absolute pleasure,” said Voss  “Thank you to the coaches and teammates for helping me achieve my goals. I'm truly honored to be a Vermont Lumberjack.”
