The EHL is pleased to announce that Koby Howat (Philadelphia Little Flyers), Eddie Mulligan (Seacoast Spartans), and David Filak (Boston Jr. Rangers) have been named the February Stars of the Month.

Howat and the Little Flyers were busy in the month of February, posting a record of 5-2-1 over the course of their eight games. As for the '02 native of Honey Brook, PA, Howat simply went off this past month, tallying 17 total points on eight goals and nine assists. Since returning from the holiday break in early January the second-year forward has tallied 32 total points to his credit. For the season, Howat's 46 total points to date are already 16 points higher than the 30 total he notched throughout the entire 2021-22 campaign.

As for where Philadelphia finds themselves in the South Division standings, the 11-point month of February has put the Little Flyers in control of their own destiny for the #3 seed. The Little Flyers and Team Maryland are currently tied for 3rd place with 49 points apiece, but it's Philadelphia that has the extra game in hand over the final few days of the regular season. If Howat and the Little Flyers can take care of business in their pair of games later this week against the Connecticut Chiefs, they will secure the #3 seed and a First Round playoff matchup with the #2-seed New Jersey 87's.

Moving back to the blue line, and keeping with the theme of teams who posted strong records in the month of February, Mulligan and the Spartans did so as well by going 6-2-0 over the course of their eight total games. As for the '02 native of Lincoln, RI, Mulligan was held off the scoresheet in the first game of the month, but that was it, as he enters March riding a seven-game point streak.

With five goals and five assists in February, Mulligan's 10 points led all EHL defensemen in scoring throughout the league. Now, looking forward, the Spartans have two regular season games remaining to fine-tune their game even further and enter their First Round matchup with the New England Wolves on a high note.

Finally, to wrap up the EHL honors in goal, Filak was virtually unbeatable for the Rangers throughout the month of February. En route to collecting four wins to his credit, Filak owned a 1.20 GAA and a .964 save percentage. The '02 native of Northville, MI also notched two more shutouts to his credit as he leads the league with six total for the season.

Looking ahead, Filak and the Rangers remain hot on the heels of the Express Hockey Club for the top spot in the East Division standings. If Boston is able to close the gap, the Rangers do hold the tie-breaker over their division rivals. However, if they remain as the #2 seed, they will still have the home-ice advantage in their First Round matchup in the upcoming EHL Playoffs.

The EHLP is pleased to announce that Drake Tomak (Boston Jr. Rangers), Ryan Sember (New England Wolves), and Jason LoRicco (New Jersey 87's) have been named the February Stars of the Month.

Tomak and the Rangers posted a record of 6-1-0 in February, and the 12-point month has Boston closing in on their 4th EHLP Regular Season Championship in franchise history and first since the 2019-20 season. As for the '03 native of Pittsburgh, PA, Tomak continued to lead the way offensively for the Rangers adding 15 more points to his season total, including a trio of game-winning goals. For the year, Tomak now has 65 points in 40 total games to date.

The only negative that came from February for Tomak is that he saw his 17-game goal scoring streak snapped, but his 37 tallies still lead the entire EHLP in that category. Looking ahead to this upcoming weekend, Tomak and the Rangers will host the Vermont Lumberjacks for a pair of games, in which they will control their own destiny towards securing the Regular Season title.

One day after claiming another weekly honor, Sember has now added a monthly award to his resume. In nine games this past month for the Wolves, the '06 native of Webster, NY notched 10 total assists to his credit, increasing his point total up to 36 for the year.

As for the Wolves record this past month, while February got off to a rough start with three straight overtime losses, New England turned things around at the end. Sember and the Wolves have won three of their last four, highlighted by a spit this past week of their two-game series with the New Hampshire Avalanche. The split was big because it officially secured New England the #3 seed in upcoming playoffs.

While both the Wolves and Avalanche have one game left on their respective schedules (against each other on Thursday), and theoretically the two rivals could finish the season tied in total points, it's the Wolves who own the tie-breaker in that scenario. Therefore, as the #3 seed, the Wolves will wait to see if their First Round opponent will either be the Adirondack Jr. Thunder or the Vermont Lumberjacks.

Finishing things off in goal, and sticking with another player that was just named a Star of the Week yesterday morning, LoRicco was almost unbeatable for the 87's this past month. The '04 native of Hillsborough, NJ won all three of his starts in February, owning stellar marks of a 0.670 GAA and a .971 save percentage. Also, it's important to note that LoRicco's second shutout of the season came this past weekend, and combined with the four he posted last year, that gives him six total over the course of his EHLP career. The six shutouts puts him in a tie at the top of the list for all-time shutouts in the EHLP.

As the #1 seed in the Mid-Atlantic Division Playoffs, New Jersey will take on the winner of the Play-In Game. While the Union Jr. Thunder are locked into the Play-In Game, their future opponent is still to be determined between the New Jersey Renegades and the Philadelphia Little Flyers.
