Maryland All-Star Defenseman Set to Join Raiders this Fall

ODENTON, MD -- Devon Jolley, a defenseman for Team Maryland, has committed to Rivier University for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of Massena, NY is in his second season with Maryland, and over the course of 82 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Jolley has tallied 20 total points to his credit.

It's also important to point out the improvement that Jolley displayed this season, as after posting just five total points throughout the entire 2021-22 campaign, the veteran defenseman has triple his production with 15 points to his name so far this year.

"Devon is an incredible kid and always has a smile on, puts his head down and goes to work everyday and truly loves the game," said Maryland head coach and general manager Josh Fusco. "To work with Devon over the past 2 seasons, see the progress and his game elevate to a high level is what the prize is for us as a staff with the commitment to Rivier. Devon has been a mainstay in our lineup from day 1 playing in 82 games, he's very strong defensively, skates very well and has developed into a more offensive dman as well as his awareness/IQ for the game brings it all together. Devon has been a leader for us and down the stretch here he has filled a bigger leadership role becoming an assistant captain."

As mentioned above, Jolley has made a significant jump in his age-out season, and that was quickly recognized with his selection to the EHL All-Star Classic back in November. Overall, Jolley is beyond grateful that his hockey journey took him down to Maryland and into the EHL.

"I am super excited to be committed to Rivier University for the fall of 2023," said Jolley. "I’d like to thank the Team Maryland organization and all of my family, friends, teammates and coaches who have helped me get to this point."

Jolley and Team Maryland hit the ice tonight at 7:30 pm for game #1 of the South Division Finals against the Philadelphia Little Flyers. If Jolley can help lead his team to victory in the series, it would secure the franchise's first-ever trip to the Frozen Finals in Providence, RI.
