Wizards All-Star Defenseman Set to Join Penmen this Fall

BEDFORD, MA -- Nicolas Dallaire, a defenseman for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of Waltham, MA recently finished his final season of junior hockey with the Wizards. Dating back to when Dallaire joined the program part-way through the 2020-21 season, the veteran defenseman hit the ice for 97 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), tallying 30 points along the way.

“Nic has been a Wizard from youth hockey on, and it has been awesome to watch his growth through the years as both a hockey player and a person," said Wizards head coach and general manager Kory Falite. "We are really excited to see him continue to grow at the next level, both on and off the ice.”

As Falite mentioned, Dallaire's time with the Wizards began way back during his youth days, and ultimately his hockey journey brought him all the way back to The Edge Sports Center.

Dallaire now sets off for SNHU, as part of an incoming class that includes five other players from around the EHL. Alongside his 2023-24 Wizards' teammate Stone Devlin, Dallaire will team up with Collin Berke (Team Maryland), Anthony Marchant (Railers Jr. Hockey Club), Bryan McLachlan (Boston Jr. Rangers), and Austin Hirschberger (Seahawks Hockey Club) when he arrives on campus in the fall.

“I would like to thank my teammates and coaches at the Wizards as well as my family for helping me achieve my goal of playing college hockey,” said Dallaire. “I also want to thank Coach [Sean] Walsh for giving me the opportunity to play at the next level at Southern New Hampshire.”
