Philly HC Forward Set to Join Trailblazers this Fall

SEWELL, NJ -- Luke Rhoss, a forward for the Philadelphia Hockey Club (PHC), has committed to the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of Arlington, VA recently finished his second and final season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). Combined between his 2021-22 season with the Vermont Lumberjacks and this past year (2022-23) with PHC, Rhoss hit the ice for 92 career games over the course of his time in the EHL, tallying 51 points along the way.

"Luke Rhoss is absolutely an amazing young man," said 2022-23 PHC head coach Jeff Perreault. "I’m so happy that Luke has earned the opportunity to attend MCLA and advance in his hockey career. He will bring a strong power forward presence to Coach [Jeremiah] Ketts and the MCLA hockey team. The one great attribute about Luke is you don’t have to tell him to go to the net and hunt pucks. He brings his amazing work-ethic to the rink every single day. I wish him nothing but success both on and off the ice at MCLA."

MCLA is re-introducing their men’s hockey program at the Division III level beginning this fall, after folding the team in 2003. Rhoss joins 12 other EHL players as part of the inaugural roster of the new era of Trailblazers hockey. Included in Rhoss' group of future teammates is one of his teammates from this past year, Colin Ogborn.

"First off I give all glory and honor to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ he’s been so good to me and my family," said Rhoss. "I’d like to thank Coach Ketts for the great opportunity. He’s a very knowledgeable coach and I can’t wait to learn from him the next four years. I'm proud to call myself a Trailblazer. Last, but not least, I would like to thank Coach Perreault and the rest of the PHC coaching staff, as well as all of my past coaches for pushing me and making me into the player I am today."
