Goaltenders Lead The Way For Week 4

BOSTON, MA -- Week #4 Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Stars of the Week for October 2nd through 9th are presented by Hockey Night in Boston.

North Division

Greyson Pane - Valley Jr Warriors (G)

The EHL is pleased to announce goalie Greyson Pane of the Valley Jr. Warriors as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’03 native of Grosse Pointe Park, MI was impressive in his lone start against the Express Hockey Club on Friday. Pane notched 50 saves in a 3-0 shutout win, his first win in three total starts so far this year. Pane currently has a 1.06 GAA. Next up Pane and the Warriors, they play host to the New Hampshire Avalanche on Thursday at 11:30 am.

East Division

Fredrik Vaahtera - Seahawks Hockey Club (G)

The EHL is pleased to announce goaltender Fredrik Vaahtera of the Seahawks Hockey Club as the East Division Star of the Week. Vaahtera, an ’03 native of Raasepori, Finland was key in his teams’s 2-1 win over the Avalanche. Vaahtera allowed just one goal while making 51 saves in his second start of the season. The Seahawks will look to keep it going on Tuesday when they host the Bridgewater Bandits at 1:00 pm at Tony Kent Arena.

Central Division

Eric Hudec - Connecticut Chiefs (D)

The Central Division Star of the Week for the EHL is defenseman Eric Hudec from the Connecticut Chiefs. The ’03 native of Milton, GA had two goals and an assist, including the overtime winner in the Chiefs 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Little Flyers. Hudec also notched an assist in his team’s 8-4 loss to the Little Flyers. Next up for Hudec and the Chiefs is a trip to Worcester to take on the Railers Jr. Hockey Club on Thursday morning at 11:30 am.

South Division

Jack Costabile - Philadelphia Little Flyers (D)

The South Division Star of the Week in the EHL is Little Flyers defenseman Jack Costabile, who put up seven points (4G, 3A) in two games. The 03’ native of Devon, PA notched a hat trick and three assists in his team’s 8-4 win over the Chiefs. Costabile also had a goal in the Little Flyers 3-2 OT loss to the Chiefs. Next up for Costabile and the Little Flyers will be the New Jersey Bears on Wednesday at 11:00 am.

New-England Division

Cade Corbin - New England Wolves (G)

The EHLP is pleased to announce goaltender Cade Corbin from the New England Wolves as the New England Division Star of the Week. The ’03 Columbia, TN native helped the Wolves to a 4-3 overtime win over the Valley Jr. Warriors on Sunday. Corbin allowed three goals and had 30 saves against a tough Jr. Warriors team. Through five starts, Corbin has posted a GAA of 2.76. Next up the Wolves and Corbin are hosting the Vermont Lumberjacks this upcoming Saturday and Sunday. 

Honorable Mention: Ryan Johnson, F, New Hampshire Avalanche

Boston Division

Nolan Tomczyk - Railers Jr Hockey Club (F)

The EHLP Boston Division Star of the Week for week four is forward Nolan Tomczyk from the Railers. The ’05 Hudson, MA native has been on a tear for the Railers and had a big showing in their two wins last week helping them stay undefeated on the season. Tomczyk had five total goals in two games for the 9-0-0 Railers. Tomczyk had two goals in the Railers’ 3-2 win over the Jr. Warriors including the game winner with 23 seconds to play. He also had a hat trick in the Railers’ wild 7-6 overtime win over the Express Hockey Club. Tomczyk was also an EHLP Star of the Week back in Week #1. Next up the Railers host the Chiefs next Tuesday at 11:30 am.

Mid-Atlantic Division

Ayden Georgiano - New Jersey 87's (F)

The Mid-Atlantic Division Star of the Week for the EHLP is forward Ayden Georgiano from the New Jersey 87’s. The ’03 native of Jackson, NJ was a vital part in the 87’s two wins over the weekend. Georgiano exploded for three goals and an assist in the 87’s 7-2 win over the Little Flyers and added two assists in their 3-2 win over the Pennsylvania Huntsmen on Sunday. Next up, the 87’s travel to Newington Arena to take on the Chiefs on Friday at 12:30 pm.
