Forward of the Month

Mathias Johansen - New England Wolves

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Mathias Johansen of the New England Wolves as an October Star of the Month. The ’03 native of Oslo, Norway tallied 14 points (6G, 8A) in the month of the October and has been a vital part of the Wolves’ early season success. Johansen has been impressive in the early going as through the team’s first 12 games, he has 22 total points (8G, 14A). His most notable two performances were a six-point game against the Lumberjacks and a four-point game, also against the Lumberjacks. The Wolves have a 7-3-1-1 record and currently sit in third place in the North Division behind the Seacoast Spartans and the New Hampshire Avalanche.

Defenseman of the Month

Jack Costabile - Philadelphia Little Flyers

The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Jack Costabile of the Philadelphia Little Flyers as an October Star of the Month. The ’03 native of Devon, PA has been a key member of the blue line for the Little Flyers through the team’s first two months. In the month of October, Costabile had 14 total points (7G, 7A) including two three-goal games against the Connecticut Chiefs and Philadelphia Hockey Club. In 15 total games to date, Costabile has 22 points (11G, 11A) for the Little Flyers, and sits towards the very top of league's leading scorers.

Goaltender of the Month

Josh Girard - Express Hockey Club

The EHL is pleased to announce Express Hockey Club goalie Josh Girard as an October Star of the Month. The ’03 native of Clifton, ME was lights out in his four starts this month by going 4-0-0 with just seven goals allowed and 120 total saves made. Girard is currently 5-0-0 in his first five starts with the Express and has a 1.86 GAA. The Express is off to a 9-2-0 start and he is a key reason why. Girard was also named a Star of the Week for week seven.

Forward of the Month

Charlie DiMartino - Express Hockey Club

The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Charlie DiMartino from the Express Hockey Club as an October Star of the Month. The ’04 native from Braintree, MA has been lighting it up in his first 13 games with the Express. In the month of October, DiMartino had 20 points (12G, 8A) and tallied at least one point in every game. He has been exceptional in all levels of the game and through 13 total games to date, he has tallied 17 goals and 13 assists to his credit. His best performance was a five-point game against the Railers in early October. The Express are 9-2-2 so far, and DiMartino has been a big reason for that early season success.

 

Defenseman of the Month

Jacob Valente - Valley Jr Warriors

The EHLP is pleased to announce defenseman Jacob Valente of the Valley Jr. Warriors as an October Star of the Month. The ’05 native of Haverhill, MA has been a key member of the blue line for the Warriors in the early going. In the month of October, Valente ha put up nine points (5G, 4A), most recently having a four-point game against the Seahawks Hockey Club. After a hot start, the Jr. Warriors have cooled off a bit, but still hold an 8-5-1 record in the very competitive Boston Division.

Goaltender of the Month

Luciano Chinappi - Boston Jr Rangers

The EHLP is pleased to announce goalie Luciano Chinappi of the Boston Jr. Rangers as an October Star of the Month. The ’04 native of Rochester, NY had a stellar month in net. Chinappi went 4-1-0 with his only loss coming in a 2-1 battle against the Railers Jr. Hockey Club. Chinappi played 300 total minutes, allowing 13 goals and making 180 saves. His GAA stands at 2.60 and has helped the Jr. Rangers get off to a 12-2-2 start to the season.
