Top Performers Racked Up Points in Minimal Games

BOSTON, MA -- Week #8 Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Stars of the Week for October 30th through November 5th are presented by Hockey Night in Boston.

North Division

Mike Marchese - New Hampshire Avalanche (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Mike Marchese of the New Hampshire Avalanche as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’03 native of Burlington, MA helped his team go 2-0-0 this past week with one goal and three assists over that span. Marchese had two assists in a 3-2 win over the Express Hockey Club and a goal and an assist in a 9-3 victory over the Valley Jr. Warriors. The Avalanche have been on fire as of late, winning six straight contests. They currently have a 9-3-1 record through 13 games to date. New Hampshire will look to keep it going as they take on H.C. Rhode Island on Wednesday and the Bridgewater Bandits on Thursday in the Worcester Regional Showcase.

East Division

Matyas Budina - Boston Jr Rangers (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Matyas Budina from the Boston Jr. Rangers as the East Division Star of the Week. Budina, an ’03 native of Novy Malin, Czechia helped his team go 2-0-0 with two goals and two assists in the two total games. Budina had a goal in a 4-2 win over the East Coast Wizards and a goal and two assists in a 4-2 win over the Vermont Lumberjacks. Budina currently has 14 points (7G, 7A) in 14 games played. The Jr. Rangers are currently in first place in the East Division with a 12-4-0 record. Next up, they will face the Connecticut RoughRiders on Wednesday and HCRI on Thursday in the Worcester Regional Showcase.

Central Division

William Stephens - Railers Jr Hockey Club (F)

The Central Division Star of the Week for the EHL is forward William Stephens from the Railers Jr. Hockey Club. The ’04 native of Anchorage, AK helped the Railers’ have another 2-0-0 week to extend their winning streak to 11. Stephens had a goal and an assist in their 5-2 win over the Seahawks Hockey Club and the game winning goal in their 3-0 shutout win over HCRI. The Railers continue to roll and currently stand at 11-1-1 in first place in the Central Division. Worcester will play the Bandits on Tuesday and the Express on Thursday in the Regional Showcase held at the Worcester Ice Center.

South Division

Landon Adams - New Jersey 87's (F)

The South Division Star of the Week in the EHL is New Jersey 87’s forward Landon Adams. Adams, an ’04 native of St. Paul, MN was the hero in two big games getting the overtime winner in a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Bears and in a 3-2 win over the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. As well as having the two overtime winning goals, Adams also contributed two assists in the wins. The 87’s have now won three straight and stand in second place at 9-3-3 in the South Division. Next up, the 87’s take on Team Maryland on Wednesday at Piney Orchard Ice Arena at 12-noon.

New-England Division

Rihards Kelmers - New England Wolves (F)

The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Rihards Kelmers from the New England Wolves as the New England Division Star of the Week. The ’05 Ogre, Latvia native had the game-winning goal in the third period in the Wolves’ 4-3 win over the Bandits. Kelmers has been key for the first place Wolves this season as in 16 games played, he has tallied 22 total points (10G, 12A). Next up, the Wolves will travel to the Ice Den Arena to take on the New Hampshire Avalanche on Thursday at 12-noon.

Boston Division

Michael Bourgeois - Boston Jr Rangers (F)

The EHLP Boston Division Star of the Week for week eight is forward Michael Bourgeois from the Boston Jr. Rangers. The ’04 Andover, MA native had a goal and an assist in the Jr. Rangers 4-0 shutout win over Vermont. Bourgeois has been key on the forward line all season long as he has 17 points (7G, 10A) in 17 games played. The Boston Jr. Rangers continue to roll and currently are in second place behind the Railers Jr. Hockey Club with a 13-2-2 record in the Boston Division. Next up, they will travel to Tony Kent Arena to take on the Seahawks on Wednesday at 11 am.

Mid-Atlantic Division

Brock Burrell - Pennsylvania Huntsmen (D)

The Mid-Atlantic Division Star of the Week for the EHLP is defenseman Brock Burrell from the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. The ’05 native of Hailey, ID helped his team go 2-0-0 with one goal and three assists in the two games. Burrell had two assists in the teams 5-2 win over the New Jersey Renegades and a goal and an assist in a 4-0 shutout over the Union Jr. Thunder. Burrell has put up 10 points (6G, 4A) in 12 games played for the Huntsmen. Next up, the Huntsmen host the Philadelphia Little Flyers on Saturday night at 6:15 pm at Power Play Rinks.
