Trio of Goaltenders Shutout Showcase

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) is proud to announce our Newington All-Showcase Teams as Players of the Week. These selections are presented by Hockey Night in Boston.

North / East

Forwards

Kaleb Miller - Boston Jr Rangers
The EHL is pleased to announce forward Kaleb Miller of the Boston Jr. Rangers as an East Division Showcase Star as he helped lead his team to a 2-1-0 showcase week in Newington. The ’03 native of Traverse City, MI had an excellent showing at the Newington Showcase tallying five goals in the Rangers three games. Miller had two goals in his team’s 4-3 loss to Providence Hockey Club, two goals in their win over the New Hampshire Avalanche, and one in their shutout of the Vermont Lumberjacks. Next up, for Miller and the Jr. Rangers, is a match-up with the Seacoast Spartans on January 12th.

Dylan Hendrick - Bridgewater Bandits
The EHL is pleased to announce forward Dylan Hendrick of the Bridgewater Bandits as an East Division Showcase Star. The ’04 native of Canada had a solid week for the Bandits putting up seven total points (2G, 5A). Hendrick tallied a goal in their 5-4 loss to the Connecticut RoughRiders, and then had his best game on Wednesday, earning one goal and three assists in a 5-2 win over the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. The Bandits are off for holiday break now, and will resume play on January 8th when they take on the Boston Jr. Terriers.

Alex Moeller - Seahawks Hockey Club
The EHL is pleased to announce forward Alex Moeller of the Seahawks Hockey Club as an East Division Showcase Star. The ’03 Philadelphia, PA native had a huge game in a 5-1 win over the Railers Jr. Hockey Club. He tallied two goals and an assist. Moeller also had the lone goal in the Seahawks 3-1 loss to Providence Hockey Club. Moeller has been key for the Seahawks this season tallying 19 points (11G, 8A) in 22 games. The Seahawks will play two more games before the holiday break. They will host the Express this afternoon at 12:30 pm and close out the first half of the season tomorrow against the East Coast Wizards.

Defenseman

Chase LaRiviere - Express Hockey Club
The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Chase LaRivere of the Express Hockey Club as an East Division Showcase Star. The ’03 native of San Jose, CA played a vital role in his team’s 3-0-0 showcase weekend. LaRivere had a key goal in their 2-0 shutout of the New Jersey Bears and a goal and an assist in their 4-0 shutout of the New England Wolves. He has been a key member of the blue line all season long for the Express with 16 points (5G, 11A) in 22 games. The Express will play one more time before holiday break, later this afternoon against the Seahawks.

Cole Mitchell - Boston Jr Terriers
The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Cole Mitchell of the Boston Jr. Terriers as an East Division Showcase Star. The ’03 native of Freeport, PA was key on the blue line for the Jr. Terriers tallying the overtime winner in their thrilling 2-1 victory over the New England Wolves this past Wednesday. In 25 games played, Mitchell has six goals and nine assists for BJT. They will return to action on January 4th when they will play the Express.

Goaltenders

Alex Koenig, Josh Girard, Phillip De Champlain - Express Hockey Club
The EHL is pleased to announce goaltenders Alex Koenig, Josh Girard and Phillip De Champlain as East Division Showcase Stars. These three helped the Express to a 3-0-0 impressive showing at the Newington Showcase with all three having one shutout a piece. De Champlain got it started on Tuesday with a 2-0 blanking of Team Maryland where he had 20 saves. Girard followed that performance up with a 2-0 shutout of his own over the New Jersey Bears where he collected 24 saves. Koenig then sealed the sweep for the Express with a 4-0 win over the New England Wolves on Thursday, with 18 saves of his own.

Forwards

Cooper Smith - Connecticut RoughRiders
The EHL is pleased to announce forward Cooper Smith of the Connecticut RoughRiders as a Central Division Showcase Star. Smith, the ’03 native of Westminster, CO, helped the RoughRiders to an impressive 3-0-0 showing this past week. He scored the game-winning goal in the second period in a 2-1 win over the New Jersey Bears. He added a goal and an assist in a 5-4 win over the Bandits, and had a hat trick including the overtime winner in a 4-3 win over the Huntsmen. Smith continues his strong play with 24 points in 21 games played. The RoughRiders hit the ice today against the New York Apple Core, and then will wrap up the 2023 calendar year with a matchup against the Connecticut Chiefs.

Josh Swan - Connecticut Chiefs
The EHL is pleased to announce forward Josh Swan of the Connecticut Chiefs as a Central Division Showcase Star. The ’04 native of Canada had a great showing in a 7-2 win over the Bridgewater Bandits with two goals and two assists. Swan also added a goal in a 6-4 loss to the Little Flyers and had an assist in a 2-1 shootout win over the Philadelphia Hockey Club. Next up, the Chiefs will host Providence Hockey Club this afternoon at Newington Arena.

Phillip Parker - Providence Hockey Club
The EHL is pleased to announce forward Phillip Parker of Providence Hockey Club as a Central Division Showcase Star. The ’04 native of Medfield, MA helped his team go 3-0-0 during an impressive Newington Showcase. He had a goal and an assist in a big 4-3 win over the Rangers. Parker also had an assist in a 3-2 shootout win over Seacoast, and a goal in a 3-1 victory over the Seahawks.

Defenseman

Jack Costabile - Philadelphia Little Flyers
The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Jack Costabile of the Philadelphia Little Flyers as a South Division Showcase Star. The ’03 from Devon, PA continues to be a strong force for his team. Costabile had an assist in a 6-4 win over the Chiefs and the game-tying goal in a 2-1 overtime win over the Spartans. Costabile continues his impressive season where he has 35 points (18G, 17A) in 27 games played. The Little Flyers will return following holiday break on January 4th when they host Team Maryland.

Tristan Boyer - Railers Jr Hockey Club
The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Tristan Boyer of the Railers Jr. Hockey Club as a Central Division Showcase Star. The ’03 native of Canada was key in his team’s two victories during the Showcase. Boyer registered two assists in a 4-1 win over the Huntsmen and had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win against Maryland. Boyer has been solid on the blue line all season for the Railers with 21 points (4G, 17A) in 25 games. The Railers host Providence Hockey Club on Tuesday at 11:30 am to close out the first half.

Ryan Crowshaw - New York Apple Core
The EHL is pleased to announce goaltender Ryan Crowshaw of the New York Apple Core as a Central Division Showcase Star. Crowshaw, an ’04 from West Hartford, CT has been on fire since joining his new team with an impressive five wins in a row. He started all three showcase games for the Apple Core leading them to three wins. First was a 6-2 win over the Valley Jr. Warriors where he allowed two goals and had 40 saves. Next was a 4-1 win over the Little Flyers where he had 25 saves, and he then finished off the week with 3-2 win against Philadelphia Hockey Club with 19 saves. Next up, the Apple Core hosts the RoughRiders today at 12-noon.
