Four New EHL Stars To End 2023

BOSTON, MA -- Hockey Night in Boston presents the December 18th-20th (Week #15) Stars of the Week for the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Stars of the Week for December 11th through 20th (Week #14 & #15).

North Division

Jake Hines - New Hampshire Avalanche (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Jake Hines of the New Hampshire Avalanche as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’04 native of North Haven, CT played a big role in his team’s 6-3 win over the Seacoast Spartans. Hines had two goals and an assist in the game and has been a key asset for the Avalanche all season. In 19 games, he has posted 14 points (7G, 7A). They currently hold first place in the North Division with a 18-6-2 record. The Avalanche will return from holiday break on January 11th when they host the New England Wolves at 12-noon.

East Division

Isak Saldjoughi - Seahawks Hockey Club (G)

The EHL is pleased to announce goaltender Isak Saldjoughi from the Seahawks Hockey Club as the East Division Star of the Week. Coming off a huge win against he Railers Jr. Hockey Club in the league showcase, Saldjoughi, an ’04 native of Monmdam, Sweden, had an outstanding performance in net helping his team defeat the Express Hockey Club. Isak posted a shutout in the 2-0 win with 31 saves. The Seahawks will return to the ice on January 5th when they host the Seacoast Spartans at Tony Kent Arena.

Central Division

Michael Benkotivz - New York Apple Core (F)

The Central Division Star of the Week for the EHL is forward Michael Benkovitz from the New York Apple Core. The ’04 native of Jersey City, NJ had a monster game in an 8-3 win over the Connecticut RoughRiders. Benkovitz had four of his team’s eight goals and also contributed an assist in the win. In 22 games with the Apple Core, Benkovitz has an impressive 10 goals and six assists. The Apple Core have currently won six straight going into the break and are in second place in the Central Division with an 18-8-1 record. They return from holiday break on January 5th and will take on the RoughRiders at SoNo Ice House.

South Division

Nolan Zotter - Team Maryland (F)

The South Division Star of the Week in the EHL is Team Maryland forward Nolan Zotter. Zotter, an ’03 native of West Grove, PA had two goals including the overtime winner in a 4-3 win over Philadelphia Hockey Club. He has been a key member of Team Maryland all season with 21 points (9G, 12A) in 21 games played. Team Maryland will return to the ice on January 4th when they take on the Philadelphia Little Flyers at IceWorks Skating Complex.

Eastern Hockey League Premier Stars presented by Hockey Night in Boston

New-England Division

Jordan Dickinson - Adirondack Jr. Thunder (F)

The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Jordan Dickinson from the Adirondack Jr. Thunder as the New England Division Star of the Week. The ’04 South Glen Falls, NY native helped his team go 2-1-0 in a three-game series with the Vermont Lumberjacks. Dickinson had two goals and an assist, including the overtime winner in a 6-5 win. He also had an assist in a 3-1 win and a goal in a 4-2 loss. Dickinson also was a Star of the Week last week in the EHLP and continues his dominant season. Next up, the Thunder will take on the New England Wolves on Saturday, January 6th at Merrill Fay Arena in Laconia, NH at 4:15 pm.

Boston Division

Charlie DiMartino - Express Hockey Club (F)

The EHLP Boston Division Star of the Week for week 14/15 is forward Charlie DiMartino from the Express Hockey Club. The ’04 Braintree, MA native had two goals and an assist in a 6-4 win over the Seahawks. DiMartino had a third period power-play goal in a 5-1 win against the Valley Jr. Warriors. He continues his dominant season where in 24 games played he has 48 points (28G, 20A). DiMartino was a Star of the Week back in week five and also the October Forward of the Month in the EHLP. The Express go into the break on a three-game win streak and will return to ice on January 5th in a big Boston Division matchup against the Railers Jr. Hockey Club.

Mid-Atlantic Division

Zach Knopf - New Jersey Renegades (F)

The Mid-Atlantic Division Star of the Week for the EHLP is forward Zach Knopf from the New Jersey Renegades. The ’06 native of Long Valley, NJ had two goals and two assists in a 6-1 win over the Little Flyers. Knopf also had an assist in a 5-3 win over the Little Flyers. In 24 games with the Renegades this season, Knopf has 23 points (8G, 15A). They go into holiday break on a two-game winning streak and hope to keep it going when they return to play on January 6th against the New Jersey 87’s.
