Four First-Time Stars Headline Week #20

BOSTON, MA -- Week #20 Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Stars of the Week for January 30th through February 5th are presented by Hockey Night in Boston.

North Division

Rory Andriole - New Hampshire Avalanche (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Rory Andriole of the New Hampshire Avalanche as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’03 native of Branford, CT had three goals and five assists in his team’s two games this week. Andriole had an impressive six-point performance (2G, 4A) in a 7-4 win over the Boston Jr. Rangers. He also had a goal and an assist in a 5-4 win over the Railers Jr. Hockey Club. With 46 points in 35 games played, Andriole has been a staple member of the Avalanche offense. The Avalanche currently hold the top shot in the North Division with a 27-6-2 record. Next up, the Avalanche host the Valley Jr. Warriors on Thursday at 12-noon.

East Division

Tay Melis - Boston Jr Rangers (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Akezhan Melis from the Boston Jr. Rangers as the East Division Star of the Week. Melis, an ’03 native of Kazakhstan had a goal and an assist in a 6-5 loss to the Valley Jr. Warriors. Melis also had two goals in the Jr. Rangers 5-4 shootout loss to the East Coast Wizards. Melis has been one to watch as in 32 games played, he has 47 points (13G, 34A). The Jr. Rangers stand in a tight race in the East Division currently in third place with a 23-11-1 record. They are off until next Monday when they take on the Express Hockey Club at Cadillac Ice Arena at 12-noon.

Central Division

Luke Festa - Connecticut RoughRiders (F)

The Central Division Star of the Week for the EHL is forward Luke Festa from the Connecticut RoughRiders. The ’03 native of Wallingford, CT had two solid performances in his team’s two wins last week. Festa had a goal and two assists in a 4-3 overtime win over the Connecticut Chiefs. The following day he had the game-tying goal in the third period against Team Maryland that his team ended up winning 7-6 in a shootout. In 23 games played with the RoughRiders, Festa has nine goals and 20 assists. They host the Railers Jr. Hockey Club on Wednesday and Thursday at SoNo Ice House.

South Division

Alex Ceselka - New Jersey Bears (F)

The South Division Star of the Week in the EHL is New Jersey Bears forward Alex Ceselka. Ceselka, an ’03 native of New York, NY had two goals and an assist including the game-tying goal in a 4-3 overtime loss to the New Jersey 87’s. Ceselka also had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Philadelphia Hockey Club. He has 13 points (6G, 7A) in 22 games played. The Bears still hold the top spot in the South Division with a 21-10-5 record. Next up, they play the Philadelphia Little Flyers on Wednesday at 12-noon.

New-England Division

Jim Fitzgerald - Adirondack Jr Thunder (D)

The EHLP is pleased to announce defenseman Jim Fitzgerald from the Adirondack Jr. Thunder as the New England Division Star of the Week. The ’03 Queensbury, NY native had two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win over the Vermont Lumberjacks. Fitzgerald has been a key blue liner all season with 42 points (15G, 27A) in 32 games. They continue to hold first place in the New England Division with a 24-5-4 record and 52 total points. They play the 87’s on Saturday and Sunday at Jersey Shore Arena.

Boston Division

Peyton Myers - Express Hockey Club (F)

The EHLP Boston Division Star of the Week for week 20 is forward Peyton Myers from the Express Hockey Club. The ’04 Latrobe, PA native had a big two games this week scoring four goals and two assists. Myers had a goal and two assists in a 4-1 win over the Bridgewater Bandits. Later in the week, he put up a hat trick in a 5-4 loss to the Boston Jr. Rangers. Myers has been outstanding for the Express this season with an impressive 55 points (26G, 29A) in 31 games. Next up, they take on the Avalanche on Tuesday at 12-noon.

Mid-Atlantic Division

Logan Behrje - New Jersey 87's (F)

The Mid-Atlantic Division Star of the Week for the EHLP is forward Logan Behrje from the New Jersey 87’s. The ’04 native of Hillsborough, NJ had three goals and an assist in an 8-1 win over the Little Flyers. He also chipped in an assist in a 3-0 win against the Union Jr. Thunder. The 87’s have won five straight and currently hold second place in the Mid-Atlantic Division with a 23-10-0 record. They host Adirondack on Saturday and Sunday.
