Final Set of Showcase Stars Of The Season

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) are pleased to announce the Philadelphia All-Showcase Teams presented by Hockey Night in Boston (HNIB).

North / East

Forwards

Gavin Simopoulos - Express Hockey Club
The EHL is pleased to announce forward Gavin Simopoulos of the Express Hockey Club as an East Division Showcase Star as he helped lead his team to a 2-1-0 showcase weekend in Philadelphia. The ’03 native of Cape Elizabeth, ME had an excellent showing at the Showcase tallying one goal and three assists in the Express’ two wins. Simopoulos factored into all three goals in his team’s 3-0 shutout win over the Valley Jr. Warriors. In 46 games played, Simopoulos tallied an impressive 61 points (20G, 41A). The Express finished the regular season by winning the East Division with a 34-10-2 record and will now await playoffs.

AJ Lackas - New England Wolves
The EHL is pleased to announce forward AJ Lackas of the New England Wolves as a North Division Showcase Star. The ’03 native of Las Vegas, NV had a solid weekend for the Wolves putting up six total points (3G, 3A). Lackas had two power-play goals in his tean’s 5-4 shootout win over Providence Hockey Club and chipped in three assists in a 7-2 win over the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. Lackas has been a threat on the forward line all season and finishes regular season play with 53 points (21G, 32A) in 45 games played. The Wolves ended in third place in the North Division with a 21-19-6 record and will play the Seacoast Spartans in a best of three series in the first round of the playoffs.

Jake Russell - Boston Jr Rangers
The EHL is pleased to announce forward Jake Russell of the Boston Jr. Rangers as an East Division Showcase Star. The ’04 Arlington, MA native had three goals including two game-winning goals in his team’s three games over the weekend. Russell had single goals in all three games and the Jr. Rangers went 2-1-0 overall in the showcase. In 40 games played for the Jr. Rangers this season, Russell has 38 points (14G, 24A). They finished in second place in the East Division with a 32-13-1 record and will play the East Coast Wizards in the first round.

 

Defenseman

Sean Hoffman - Valley Jr Warriors
The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Sean Hoffman of the Valley Jr. Warriors as a North Division Showcase Star. The ’03 native of Haymarket, VA played a vital role in his team’s showcase weekend. Hoffman had two goals and four assists in the Warrior’s three games. In their lone win of the weekend Hoffman tallied two goals and two assists in a 9-4 victory over the Philly Little Flyers. In 45 games played, Hoffman has nine goals and 14 assists and is a key member of the blue line. The Jr. Warriors finished with a 17-21-8 record and will square off with the New Hampshire Avalanche in the first round.

Jake Cataldi - Bridgewater Bandits
The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Jake Cataldi of the Bridgewater Bandits as an East Division Showcase Star. The ’04 native of East Providence, RI delivered two goals and two assists in his team’s three games. Cataldi had both of the Bandits goals in a 4-2 loss to HC Rhode Island and added an assist in their 2-1 overtime win against Philadelphia Hockey Club and a 6-1 win over Team Maryland. Bridgewater concludes their first year in the EHL with a 12-3-3 record.

 

Goaltender

Sam Boos - New Hampshire Avalanche
The EHL is pleased to announce goaltender Sam Boos from the New Hampshire Avalanche as an East Division Showcase Star. The ’03 New Freedom, PA native posted two big wins in goal in the Philadelphia Showcase over the weekend. Boos’ first win was a 1-0 shutout against the Express where he registered 22 saves and his second was a 4-2 win over the Railer Jr. Hockey Club where he allowed two goals and had 29 saves. Boos closes out an exceptional regular season for the Avalanche where he went 18-2-0 with a 2.14 GAA in 24 appearances. They finished atop the North Division with a 34-9-3 record.

Forwards

Jack Wineman - Railers Jr Hockey Club
The EHL is pleased to announce forward Jack Wineman of the Railers Jr. Hockey Club as a Central Division Showcase Star. Wineman, the ’03 native of Birmingham, MI had three goals and an assist in two games over the weekend. Wineman tallied a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over the Vermont Lumberjacks and had two goals in a 5-2 win over the East Coast Wizards. Wineman has been a staple player for the Railers the last two seasons and has 58 points (29G, 29A) in 44 games. The Railers are the regular season champions of the EHL and finished with an impressive 36-8-2 record. They await the results of the play-in game between HC Rhode Island and the Connecticut Chiefs to see who they draw in the first round.

Trevor Kruczek - Philadelphia Little Flyers
The EHL is pleased to announce forward Trevor Kruczek of the Philadelphia Little Flyers as a South Division Showcase Star. The ’03 native of Nanticoke, PA had two goals and three assists in his team’s three games. Kruczek had a goal and two assists in a 9-4 loss to the Jr. Warriors and had a goal and an assist in a huge 4-2 win over the Boston Jr. Rangers. In just 23 games played for the Little Flyers, Kruczek has 25 total points. The Little Flyers end their regular season with a 23-20-3 record and will face-off against Philadelphia Hockey Club in a play-in game.  

Oleg Egorov - New Jersey Bears
The EHL is pleased to announce forward Oleg Egorov of the New Jersey Bears as a South Division Showcase Star. The ’04 native of Moscow, Russia had a goal and an assist in two games played. Egorov had an assist in a 4-3 win over the East Coast Wizards and had a power play goal in a 3-2 win over the Boston Jr. Terriers. Egorov has 34 points (16G, 18A) in 40 games played. The Bears clinched the South Division with a 29-12-5 record and will await to see who they face in the first round.

 

Defenseman

Noah Webster - HC Rhode Island
The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Noah Webster of HC Rhode Island as a Central Division Showcase Star. The ’03 from Saint John, New Brunswick had a goal and two assists in two wins over the weekend. Webster chipped in two assists in a 4-2 win over Bridgewater and had a first period power play goal in a 5-2 win over the NJ Bears. Webster has been key on the blue line all season and has 26 points in 40 games. HC Rhode Island finished in fourth place in the Central Division with an 18-23-5 record and will play the CT Chiefs in a play-in game.

Jack Foote - New Jersey 87's
The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Jack Foote of the New Jersey 87’s as a South Division Showcase Star. The ’03 native of Shrewsbury, NJ was key in his team’s two victories during the Showcase. Foote had the overtime game-winning goal in a 4-3 win over Providence Hockey Club and also had an assist in a 5-2 win against the Seahawks. The 87’s finished in second place in the South Division with a 25-16-5 record and will play Team Maryland in a best of three in the first round.

 

Goaltender

Artur Dzhilavyan - Connecticut Chiefs
The EHL is pleased to announce goaltender Artur Dzhilavyan of the Connecticut Chiefs as a Central Division Showcase Star. Dzhilavyan, an ’03 from Moskva, Russia had a win and a loss in two strong showings for the Chiefs. He got the win in a 2-1 shootout victory over Seacoast where he had 30 saves. He took a loss, but played outstanding in a 1-0 game with the Vermont Lumberjacks where he also had 30 saves. The Chiefs finished in fifth place in the Central Division and will play HC Rhode Island in a play-in game.

TEAM 1

Forwards

Zach Spicuzza - New England Wolves
The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Zach Spicuzza of the New England Wolves as a Showcase Star. The ’05 from Meredith, NH had an outstanding showing for the Wolves during the showcase where he had 10 points (4G, 6A) in four games. Spicuzza tallied at least one point in all four games and had two four-point performances. He had two goals and two assists in a 7-6 overtime loss to the NJ 87’s and had a goal and three assists in a 5-4 win over the Railers. He has been an unstoppable force all season long and has 42 points (23G, 19A) in 41 games. The Wolves finished second in the New England Division with a 19-19-4 record and will play the New Hampshire Avalanche in the first round.

Harrison Kramer - New England Wolves
The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Harrison Kramer of the New England Wolves as a Showcase Star. The ’06 native of Redlands, CA had a monster showing this week for the Wolves. He put up nine total points (5G, 4A) in four games. Kramer tallied a goal and an assist in a 3-2 shootout win over the NJ Renegades to open the showcase. He had an impressive five points (3G, 2A) in a 7-6 overtime loss to the 87s and followed that up with two goals in a 5-4 win over the Railers. In 42 games played, Kramer has 70 points (38G, 32A).  

Charlie DiMartino - Express Hockey Club
The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Charlie DiMartino of the Express Hockey Club as a Showcase Star. The ’04 from Braintree, MA put up impressive numbers this weekend. DiMartino totaled seven points (5G, 2A) in four games played. He scored a hat trick in a 6-4 win over the Philly Little Flyers and had the overtime winning goal in a 5-4 victory over the PA Huntsmen. He helped his team finish off a 4-0 showcase with a goal and two assists in a 4-1 win against the Union Jr. Thunder. DiMartino has shown no signs of slowing down as he has 86 points (44G, 42A) in 42 games played. The Express finished the regular season with a 29-10-3 record and will play the Bridgewater Bandits in the play-in round.

 

Defenseman

Neil Corrigan - Valley Jr Warriors
The EHLP is pleased to announce defensemen Neil Corrigano of the Valley Jr. Warriors as a Showcase Star. The ’04 native of Stoneham, MA had a solid showing on the blue line putting up five total points. He had a goal in a 5-1 win against the New Jersey Renegades and three assists in a 9-1 win over the Adirondack Jr. Thunder. Corrigan has been consistently good on the blue line and has two goals and 21 assists in 42 games. They finished with a 27-11-4 record and will take on the Seahawks in the play-in round.

Antoine Brunet - Vermont Lumberjacks
The EHLP is pleased to announce defenseman Antoine Brunet of the Vermont Lumberjacks as a Showcase Star. Brunet, an ’06 native of Montreal, QUE had four total assists in three games played for the Lumberjacks. Brunet had two assists in a 5-2 loss to the Seahawks and had single assists in a 5-3 loss to the PA Huntsmen and a 3-0 win over the CT Chiefs. Vermont finishes in last place in the New England Division with a 14-24-4 record and will play Adirondack in the first round.

 

Goaltender

Luciano Chinappi - Boston Jr Rangers
The EHLP is pleased to announce goalie Luciano Chinappi of the Boston Jr. Rangers as a Showcase Star. The ’04 native of Rochester, NY had a lights out weekend between the pipes. He delivered two wins for his Jr. Rangers team. Chinappi helped his team win 3-1 over the Little Flyers where he had 25 saves. He followed that performance up with a 5-0 shutout win over the Union Jr. Thunder. In 18 appearances, Chinappi is 13-4-0 with a 2.36 GAA. The Jr. Rangers finished in second place in the Boston Division with a 31-8-3 record and await to see who they will face in the playoffs.

TEAM 2

Forwards

Ayden Georgiano - New Jersey 87's
The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Ayden Georgiano of the New Jersey 87’s as a Showcase Star. Georgiano, an ’03 from Jackson, NJ had a great showing tallying six total points. He recorded three goals and an assist in a 7-6 overtime win over the New England Wolves. Georgiano had a goal in a 5-4 win over the Valley Jr. Warriors and an assist in a 2-1 win against the Boston Jr. Rangers. He has an outstanding 67 points (27G, 40A) in 41 games. The 87s finished with a 31-10-0 record and winners of their last 13 straight. 

Lucas Choteau - Bridgwater Bandits
The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Lucas Choteau of the Bridgewater Bandits as a Showcase Star. The ’06 native of Montreal, QUE had an impressive five goals in three games during the showcase over the weekend. He had single goals in a 4-3 win over the Union Jr. Thunder and a 2-1 win over the CT Chiefs. His best performance came in a 5-3 loss where Choteau registered all three of the Bandits goals. The Bandits will take on the Express in the Play-In Round.

Andrew Beausang - Valley Jr Warriors
The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Andrew Beausang of the Valley Jr. Warriors as a Showcase Star. Beausang, an ’04 from North Andover, MA had an outstanding showcase with three goals and four assists in four games. Beausang had a goal and two assists in a 5-4 loss to the NJ 87’s and had two goals in a 9-1 victory against the Adirondack Jr. Thunder. In 37 games played, Beausang has 17 points for the Jr. Warriors.  

 

Defenseman

Thomas Malhouitre - Railers Jr Hockey Club
The EHLP is pleased to announce defensemen Thomas Malhouitre of the Railers Jr. Hockey Club as a Showcase Star. The ’03 native of Auzebosc, France had a solid showing from the blue line for the Railers with two goals and an assist over the weekend. He scored a goal in a 4-1 win over Adirondack and had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win against the Huntsmen. The Railers were crowned regular season champions and finished with a 38-4-0 record. They await to see who they draw in the first round.  

Mason Czaban - Philadelphia Little Flyers
The EHLP is pleased to announce defensemen Mason Czaban of the Philadelphia Little Flyers as a Showcase Star. The ’06 native of Mullica Hill, NJ recorded two assists in four games played over the weekend. He has been a steady fixture on the blue line and has 29 points (10G, 19A) in 33 games played. The Little Flyers will face the Union Jr. Thunder in the Play-In Round.

 

Goaltender

Andrew Ladd - Express Hockey Club
The EHLP is pleased to announce goalie Andrew Ladd of the Express Hockey Club as a Showcase Star. Ladd, an ’04 from Walpole, MA earned two big wins over the weekend. The first was a 5-1 win over the New England Wolves where Ladd allowed one goal and had 16 saves. He earned his second consecutive win beating the Union Jr. Thunder 4-1 where he tallied 26 saves. Ladd continues his solid season where in 17 appearances, he has gone 12-2-0 with a 2.41 GAA.
