Rangers Two-Year, All-Star Forward Set to Join Wildcats this Fall

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Bret Beale, a forward for the Boston Jr. Rangers, has committed to Johnson & Wales University (JWU) for the fall of 2024.

The '03 native of Highland, MI recently finished his second and final season with the Rangers, and over the course of 104 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Beale tallied 115 total points to his credit on 48 goals and 67 assists.

"Bret was a true leader for us these last 2 seasons," said Rangers head coach and general manager Rich DeCaprio. "He brought a winning mindset into the rink each day and was an offensive threat every time he touched the ice. It was great to watch him grow into an NCAA player over these last 2 seasons, and I can’t wait to see him play at the next level."

When Beale arrives at that next level, he will be immediately joined by his 2023-24 teammate Cullen Hennessy, whom also committed to JWU back in mid-February. Alongside the pair of former Rangers, the EHL has seen two other players choose the Wildcats for their next stop in their respective careers, as Joey Sciabarra of H.C. Rhode Island and Josh Belz of the Valley Jr. Warriors, will team up with Beale and Hennessy when the group arrives on campus this fall.

"I am super excited about my commitment to Johnson & Wales University and ready to get right to work," said Beale. "My time at BJR was nothing short of amazing. The memories from the past 2 years and the friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime. Playing for Coach DeCaprio really helped me develop my game to be able to play at the next level."

Beale was born and raised in the state of Michigan, and the EHL is getting set to kick-off it's annual combine in Brighton, MI on Thursday, marking the 3rd straight year that the league has held an event in one of the top hockey states in the country. There are fewer than five spots remaining, so be sure to SIGN UP TODAY, and carve your path towards becoming the next 'Bret Beale'.
