Lumberjacks Defenseman To Play For First-Year Team

BURLINGTON, VT -- Colin Stow, a defenseman for the Vermont Lumberjacks, has committed to Misericordia University for the fall of 2024.

An '03 from Oak Park, IL, Stow played 44 games in the 2023-24 season, recording six goals and seven assists for a total of 13 points.

"Colin came to us from a different junior league with the goal of finding a collegiate home in the Northeast region," said Lumberjacks head coach Seth Gustin. "He was an immediate impact both on the ice and in the locker room, bringing a veteran presence and fun personality. Throughout the season he continuously worked to develop his game and soon found himself playing in important situations late in the season. We are extremely proud of Colin, and can't wait to see what he accomplishes in the future!"

Stow will be joining Misericordia University, an NCAA Division III program in the UCHC, located in Dallas, Pennsylvania. He will be teaming up with 11 other EHL alumni from this season at Misericordia.

"Without the support of my family, friends, teammates, and coaches (both youth and junior level) I wouldn’t be able to get where I am today, and to them I owe a huge thanks," said Stow. "Coming to the Lumberjacks for my age-out year was the best decision I made in my hockey career. Even though I was a new addition to the program, I was welcomed by all. I will forever be thankful for my time in Vermont, for the bonds and friendships I’ve gained. I plan to make them proud as my hockey journey continues."
