Wolves Defenseman Will Join Lumberjacks This Fall

LACONIA, NH -- Christian Shields, a defenseman for the New England Wolves, has committed to Northland College for the fall of 2024.

An '03 from Mississauga, ON, Canada, Shields played 14 games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) during the 2023-24 season, recording a goal and an assist to his credit.

"Christian joined our team with the goal of being seen by more NCAA coaches," said Wolves head coach Tim Kunes. "We're really pleased to have been able to help him accomplish his goal of playing NCAA hockey."

Shields expressed his gratitude for the support he received along his journey to the next level.

"I am beyond happy to have accomplished my goal of playing NCAA hockey," said Shields. "It has been a journey of learning, hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I'm thankful to my family for their unrelenting support and my coaches that made an impact on my development along the way."

Shields will be joining Northland College, an NCAA Division III program in Wisconsin, along with Sammy Lamphear from the Bridgewater Bandits this fall.
