BEDFORD, MA -- Casey Raffone, a forward for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to Keene State College for the fall of 2024.
An '03 from Guilford, Connecticut, Raffone played two seasons with the Wizards. In the 2022-23 season, Raffone hit the ice for 30 games, recording five goals and 12 assists to his credit. In the 2023-24 season, he elevated his game, tying for the team lead in goals with 21, and adding 22 assists in 44 games.
"Casey was a huge piece offensively for us the past two seasons, especially this past year, leading the team in goals and finishing second on the team in points," said Wizards head coach and general manager Kory Falite. "He had one of the quickest and most effective shots in our league the past two years. We’re excited to see what he brings to the next level!"
Raffone expressed his excitement about the opportunity to continue his academic and athletic career.
"I am extremely excited about the opportunity to continue my education and hockey career at Keene State," said Raffone. "I am thrilled to be going into a school that puts a huge commitment into their hockey program, and even more excited to play for Coach Rodrigue. I would like to thank my parents, family, coaches, and all my teammates who helped get me to where I am today."
Raffone will join Keene State, an NCAA Division III program in its first season, along with many fellow EHL alumni, including Artur Dzhilavyan, Jared Martin, and Shane Mazur from the Connecticut Chiefs; Luke Festa from the Connecticut RoughRiders; Joe Fontaine and Ryan Koshiol from the East Coast Wizards; Peter Unger from the New York Apple Core; Marcus Chrisafideis, Sean McBride, and Chase Carney from the Railers Jr. Hockey Club; Ben Skelton, Thor Hansen, and Michael Boschetto from the Seacoast Spartans; Sean Hoffman from the Valley Jr. Warriors; Mike Collett from the Seahawks Hockey Club; and Kyle Gonzales from the New Hampshire Avalanche.
It's also worth pointing out that the EHL is set to face-off against Keene State this season, as the Northeast All-Star Team will take on the Owls as part of the 2024 College Series in October.
