Providence Veteran Forward Set to Join Trailblazers this Fall

NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI -- William Woodruff, a forward for the Providence Capitals, has committed to the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) for the fall of 2024.

An '03 from Bloomingdale, New York, Woodruff played in 40 games during the 2023-24 season, tallying 12 goals and 13 assists for a total of 25 points.

"MCLA is getting a skilled forward with a knack for putting the puck in the back of the net," said Providence head coach and general manager Jeff Perreault. "Not only is Woody a great hockey player, Coach Ketts is scoring himself a great golfer as well. The Providence Capitals wish Will nothing but success!"

Woodruff expressed his excitement about the next chapter in his hockey career.

"I can’t thank Coach Jeff and Coach Ben enough for helping get me ready and prepare me for the next level in playing college hockey," said Woodruff. "I’m excited, and look forward to joining MCLA. Go Trailblazers!"

At MCLA, an NCAA Division III program in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), Woodruff will team up with Sam Zis from the Connecticut Chiefs and Josh Girard from the Express Hockey Club.
