Bandits Goaltender Set to Join Wildcats this Fall

BRIDGEWATER, MA -- Brendan Flanagan, a goaltender for the Bridgewater Bandits, has committed to Johnson & Wales University (JWU) for the fall of 2024.

An '04 from Berkley, Massachusetts, Flanagan played 32 games for the Bandits team in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) during the 2023-24 season, where he had a 3.78 GAA and a .908 save percentage, to go along with one shutout.

"I'm so excited and happy for not only Brendan but for Johnson & Wales," said Bandits head coach and general manager Scott Drevitch. "They are getting not only a good player, but one of the best team guys ever. Brendan worked extremely hard over the years and really has transformed his game into a consistent goaltender. A great teammate, leader, and friend—all good teams start in the locker room, and he is one of the best locker room guys around."

Flanagan expressed his gratitude and excitement for the next chapter.

"I am extremely thankful for the opportunity Coach Graham has given me to continue my academic and athletic career at Johnson and Wales University," said Flanagan. "I would like to send a huge thank you to Coach Drevitch and our strength coach Rob Jones for aiding in my on and off-ice development. I started my hockey career as a Bridgewater Bandit, so to look back and see how they have developed me into the goalie I have become has truly been something special. I am super excited for this upcoming fall!"

Flanagan will join several other EHL alumni at Johnson & Wales, including Bret Beale from the Boston Jr. Rangers, Evan Gravel from the Express Hockey Club, and Joey Sciabarra from H.C. Rhode Island. All of these players competed in the league this past season and will be joining the Wildcats this fall.
