HAVERHILL, MA -- Anthony Beaulieu, a goaltender for the Valley Jr. Warriors, has committed to New England College (NEC) for the fall of 2024.
The '04 native of Lawrence, MA spent of pair of seasons with the Warriors, splitting his time between the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP). Combining the two years together, Beaulieu won 19 games between the pipes for Valley.
"Anthony represents everything that we hope for our players," said Warriors head coach and general manager Ryan McGrath. "He had a successful MIAA career at Austin Prep then played the majority of the 2022-23 season with our EHLP team and played great! He was called up to EHL a handful of games and continued to perform well. So well, that he earned a permanent spot on our EHL squad for the 2023-24 season. He works so hard; he is hardest on himself and that drive is what got him to garner the attention of the staff at NEC. We will miss Anthony but are so proud of him. He comes from a truly A+ family. His parents and brother Joseph were at every game they could attend and hosted many team pasta parties. The VJW family wishes Anthony all the best luck and success at NEC!"
Beaulieu won't on to express his gratitude towards everyone who helped support him along the journey.
"I can't thank my family, my coaches, and my teammates enough for helping me along the way," said Beaulieu. "I am so excited to be a NEC Pilgrim and play for Coach Carroll."
Beaulieu is one of two EHL players from the 2023-24 season that chose NEC for this fall, as he will team up with Emmanuel Damianakis from the East Coast Wizards.
