Artur & Artem Kondrashov Return To The Bears

FLEMINGTON, NJ -- As the New Jersey Bears embark on another season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) South Division, brothers Artur and Artem Kondrashov are set to make their mark in their final year of junior hockey. The brothers, originally from Ukraine, have been key contributors to the Bears' success, and both are looking to cap off their junior careers with a strong final year.

Last season, Artem played 40 games, scoring 10 goals and adding 13 assists, while Artur recorded seven goals and 10 assists in 38 games. This season, both brothers have started strong. In just 4 games, Artem has two goals and three assists, and Artur has tallied two goals and four assists. Their consistent performances helped elevate the team last year, and they are already proving to be key players once again.

Their bond on the ice is undeniable. Having played together since the beginning of their hockey careers, the Kondrashov brothers have developed a natural chemistry.

“By now, we literally feel each other on the ice and make passes without even looking,” said Artem.

Coach Jason Kilcoyne recognizes the value the brothers bring to the Bears lineup.

“The twins are a big reason for last year’s success in our first year in the league. They are both offensively gifted in their own way. Artem is more of a shooter that plays with speed, while Artur is more cerebral, and they complement one another perfectly,” Kilcoyne noted.

He also emphasized the strength of their bond off the ice, saying, “What’s most impressive is that they’re coming from a place that is at war, and all they have is each other. Now, they want to go to college in the United States, which is pretty special.”

Artem also acknowledged how the EHL has played a crucial role in their development.

“After we came to this league, we started to make decisions on the ice a lot faster, because it’s a very fast league with very good players who are very efficient and work hard every game,” he explained.

In addition to their development, Artem credited Coach Kilcoyne’s guidance as a key reason for their decision to stay with the Bears.

“Jason Kilcoyne was one of the reasons why we stayed for another season with the Bears. He is a coach who puts player development first and prepares us for the next step in college,” Artem said.

Their personal goals are clear: to win the league and attract the attention of NCAA Division III schools. They also expressed their hope to continue their hockey journey together in college.

“We don’t mind going to different colleges, but I would prefer to go to the same college as my brother,” Artem added.

With their undeniable chemistry and focus on success, the Kondrashov brothers are set to leave their impact on the South Division this season.
