Top EHL & EHLP Performers for Week #5

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Announce Stars of Week Five for October 15th through 21st.

North Division

Mike Ranaldi - New Hampshire Avalanche (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Mike Ranaldi of the New Hampshire Avalanche as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’05 native of Newburyport, MA had a monster two games this past week tallying five goals and two assists in two big wins. Ranaldi notched a hat trick in a 5-1 win against the Express Hockey Club and followed that performance up with two goals and two assists in a 7-2 win over the Bridgewater Bandits. Ranaldi has been a big part of the Avalanche’s early success with 13 points in 10 games. The Avalanche (8-1-0-1) will be back in action Tuesday October 29 when they host the Valley Jr. Warriors at 12:10pm.

East Division

Nate McFarlane - Boston Jr Terriers (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Nate McFarlane from the Boston Jr. Terriers as the East Division Star of the Week. McFarlane, an ’04 native of Brampton, ONT put up six total points (3G, 3A) in his team’s three wins this past week. McFarlane had a goal and an assist in a 5-4 shootout win over the Express Hockey Club, the overtime winner in a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Boston Jr. Eagles and finished off the week with a goal and two assists in a 7-2 win against the Seahawks Hockey Club. The Boston Jr. Terriers (7-3-0-0) are off until October 30 when they take on the Providence Capitals at 11:30am.

Central Division

Daniel Kroon - Providence Capitals (F)

The Central Division Star of the Week for the EHL is forward Daniel Kroon from the Providence Capitals. The ’04 native of Calgary, Alberta had a five-point game (2G, 3A) in a 6-3 win over the Connecticut Nor’Easter to lead the offensive attack. Kroon also had an assist in a 4-2 loss to HC Rhode Island. In the early going, Kroon has been an unstoppable force for the Capitals with 22 points (9G, 13A) in 11 games played. The Capitals (7-3-1-0) will be back in action on October 30 when they host the Boston Jr. Terriers at 11:30am.

South Division

Kain Walker - Philadelphia Little Flyers (F)

The South Division Star of the Week in the EHL is Philadelphia Little Flyers forward Kain Walker. Walker, an ’05 native of Media, PA scored three goals in his team’s two games this week. Walker had a second period goal in a 5-4 win over the New Jersey 87’s. The next day, he scored both goals in his team’s big 2-1 win over the 87’s. Walker has 10 points (5G, 5A) in nine games played so far this season. The Little Flyers (3-5-0-1) will look to keep their win streak alive when they take on the New York Apple Core Tuesday October 29 at 1:00pm.

North Division

Cam Plumb - New England Wolves (F)

The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Cam Plumb from the New England Wolves as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’06 Pembroke, NH native had another monster week (6G, 3A) for the Wolves helping them go 4-0. Plumb had a goal in a 4-1 win over the Vermont Lumberjacks, a goal and an assist in an 8-0 win over the Lumberjacks, a goal and two assists in a 9-1 win also against the Lumberjacks. Plumb capped off his amazing week with a hat trick in a 7-1 victory. Plumb is off to a strong start with the Wolves with 26 points (12G, 13A) in 12 games. The undefeated (12-0-0-0) Wolves hope to keep it going Thursday when they play the Valley Jr. Warriors at 11:30 am.

Parker Platt - Providence Capitals (F)

The EHLP East Division Star of the Week for week five is forward Parker Platt from the Providence Capitals. The ’05 Bend, OR native had two goals and an assist in a 6-3 win over the Bridgewater Bandits in his team’s lone game of the week. Platt has been a key member of the Capital’s offense so far this season with 10 points (8G, 2A) in seven games. The Providence Capitals (5-4-1-0) will host the New Hampshire Avalanche (8-1-0-1) Wednesday at 11:30am.

South Division

Isaac Walker - Union Jr Thunder (F)

The South Division Star of the Week for the EHLP is forward Isaac Walker from the Union Jr. Thunder. The ’06 native of Columbus, GA had four goals and two assists in a win and loss this past week. Walker powered his team to a 4-1 win over the Philly Little Flyers with two goals and an assist. The following day, Walker scored two of his team’s three goals in a 4-3 loss to the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. In nine games with the Thunder so far, Walker has nine points (7G, 2A). The Jr. Thunder will be back in action Sunday when they host the Little Flyers at 2:25pm.
