BURLINGTON, VT - Jordan Blais, a forward for the Vermont Lumberjacks, has committed to Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) for the fall of 2025.
An '04 from Enfield, CT, Blais played in 38 games during the 2023-24 season, recording three goals and eight assists. So far this season, he has played 13 games, tallying five goals and five assists.
“Jordan made an immediate impact in our program with his professional demeanor,” said Lumberjacks head coach Seth Gustin. “His high character was on display daily, and rewarded as his teammates selected him as a captain this season. His intensity, drive, and determination allowed him to develop over these two seasons in the EHL, and we are so proud to have coached him and been part of his development. Jordan is going to be successful in anything he does, he is just that type of person. We look forward to watching him continue to grow throughout his collegiate career and beyond.”
"I am proud to announce my commitment to Western Connecticut State University,” said Blais. “I owe a lot of this success to my parents who have stood by me from the moment I embarked on this journey. This would not be possible without the support of my friends, family, coaches, and teammates. I would like to thank the Vermont coaching staff and our owners, Mr. and Mrs. Rosales, for providing me a place to truly develop and harness my love for the game. I would also like to thank my teammates over the last two years, with whom I have shared some of the best memories in my hockey career. In my first season with Vermont, our veteran core was crucial in shaping how I would carry myself and help to lead the 'Jacks this season. I would like to thank Jake King, Andy Votta, Gordon Perkins, Duane Adams, Jesse Peters, Pat Tabb, and all of my previous mentors for shaping me into the player I am today. Lastly, thank you to Coach [Doug] Friedman for believing in me and providing me with the opportunity to continue my dream both academically and athletically. Vermont will always hold a special place in my heart and the lessons I learned here are priceless. Do everything with one hundred percent effort. Roll 'Jacks and go Wolves!"
