Week Four College Alumni Features Five Goaltenders

BOSTON, MA -- Another week brought another NE10 sweep for Eastern Hockey League (EHL) alumni, as former players continued to excel in NCAA Division III hockey. Across multiple conferences, EHL alumni earned recognition for their standout performances. Here’s a closer look at this week’s honorees.

Northeast-10 (NE-10)

Player of the Week: Patrick McKiernan, Assumption University

A New Hampshire Avalanche alum from the 2022-23 season, sophomore defenseman Patrick McKiernan was instrumental in Assumption’s weekend sweep over Saint Anselm. McKiernan tallied three points and posted a +3 rating across the two games. On Friday, he assisted the game-tying goal with just over a minute left in regulation before scoring the overtime game-winner. His efforts showcased his ability to step up in critical moments.

Goaltender of the Week: Collin Berke, Southern New Hampshire University

A Team Maryland alum from the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, sophomore goaltender Collin Berke had a dominant weekend for SNHU, earning back-to-back shutouts against Post University. On Friday, Berke made 20 saves and even recorded an assist in a 3-0 victory. He followed up with a 36-save performance on Saturday, helping SNHU secure a 4-0 win.

Rookie of the Week: Evan Plunkett, Saint Michael's College

Seacoast Spartans alum from the 2023-24 season, Evan Plunkett continues to impress in his freshman campaign. Plunkett posted a 2.19 GAA and a .931 save percentage over three games this week. On Tuesday, he made 34 saves in relief during a tough loss to Saint Anselm. Over the weekend, Plunkett played a pivotal role in Saint Michael’s sweep of Franklin Pierce, stopping 21 shots in a 3-2 win on Friday and 26 shots in a 5-1 victory on Saturday.

State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)

Goaltender of the Week: Ronan Mobley, SUNY Cortland

New Hampshire Avalanche alum from the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, junior goaltender Ronan Mobley was outstanding for Cortland, leading the Red Dragons to two key SUNYAC victories on the road. Mobley posted a .927 save percentage and a 1.50 GAA for the week. On Friday, he stopped 21-of-22 shots in a 3-1 victory over Plattsburgh, marking just the second time in series history that Cortland held their opponent to one goal or fewer. On Saturday, Mobley made 17 saves in a 4-2 win against Potsdam, including two clutch stops late in the game.

United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) 

Goaltender of the Week: William Billequey, Manhattanville University

A Vermont Lumberjacks alum from the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, sophomore goaltender William Billequey earned his second consecutive UCHC Goaltender of the Week honor. Billequey played all 125 minutes of Manhattanville’s series against Nazareth, posting a 1.92 GAA and a .940 save percentage. He made 35 saves in Friday’s 4-1 win and added 28 saves in Saturday’s shootout tie.

New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) 

Goaltender of the Week: Tyler Bost, UMass Boston

A former Express Hockey Club (Walpole Express) player during the 2018-19 season and briefly with the Valley Jr. Warriors in 2019-20, senior goaltender Tyler Bost had a stellar weekend for UMass Boston. On Friday, Bost stopped 31 of 33 shots in a 4-2 win over New England College. He followed it up with a 31-save shutout on Saturday, leading the Beacons to a 3-0 victory.

Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC)

Offensive Player of the Week: Ethan Hersant, King’s College

Express Hockey Club (Walpole Express) alum from the EHL, Ethan Hersant led the way for King’s College, racking up six points across two games against Neumann. Hersant tallied a short-handed goal and three assists in Friday’s 6-5 overtime loss and added another goal and an assist on Saturday. Hersant also dominated in the faceoff circle, winning 39 of 68 draws (57.3%).
