Top EHL & EHLP Performers for Week #11 & #12

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Announce Stars of Week 11 & 12 for November 26th through December 9th.

Eastern Hockey League

North Division

Danny Storella - New Hampshire Avalanche (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Danny Storella of the New Hampshire Avalanche as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’06 native of Stoneham, MA had three goals and two assists in two games played. Storella had a hand in all four goals in a 4-0 shutout win over the Boston Dukes. He scored twice and assisted on the other two. Storella also chipped in a goal the following day in a 3-1 win over the Valley Jr. Warriors. In 19 games played so far, Storella has 24 points (15G, 9A). The Avalanche (17-2-0-2) will be back in action Tuesday in a match-up with the East Coast Wizards (16-4-1-0) at 11:00am.

East Division

Alex Koenig - Express Hockey Club (G)

The EHL is pleased to announce goaltender Alex Koenig from the Express Hockey Club as the East Division Star of the Week. Koenig, an ’04 native of Manhattan Beach, CA had two spectacular outings in net over the past two weeks. The first was a big 4-1 win over the East Coast Wizards where he allowed one goal and had 30 saves. He followed that up with a 4-0 shutout performance where he stopped 25. Koenig has picked up right where he left off last season and in 13 appearances this season is 10-1 with a 1.53 GAA. The Express (16-1-0-2) will next play Thursday at 12 noon when they host the Wizards.

Central Division

Brayden Deschamps - Providence Capitals (F)

The Central Division Star of the Week for the EHL is forward Brayden Deschamps from the Providence Capitals. The ’04 native of Burrillville, RI had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 win against the Vermont Lumberjacks in the team’s first game back after Thanksgiving break. This is Deschamps second Star of the Week honor this season and in 19 games played, he has tallied seven goals and seven assists. The Capitals (12-6-1-1) will be back in action Saturday when they host the Connecticut Nor’Easter (9-12-1-0) at 6:30pm.

South Division

Alexander Legkov - New Jersey 87's (F)

The South Division Star of the Week in the EHL is New Jersey 87’s forward Alexander Legkov. Legkov, an ’04 native of Moskva, Russia had an outstanding week with two goals and two assists in two games played. Legkov tallied a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over the Philly Little Flyers and also had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 overtime win against the Little Flyers. Legkov is having a tremendous season so far for the 87’s with 30 points (11G, 19A) in 13 games played. The 87’s (14-7-0-0) will next play Tuesday when they host the New Jersey Bears (18-3-0-2) at 12:30pm.

Eastern Hockey League Premier

North Division

Bradley Parker - Adirondack Jr Thunder (F)

The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Bradley Parker from the Adirondack Jr. Thunder as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’04 Toronto, ONT native had a six-point game in an 9-3 win over the New England Wolves. Parker had a hand in six out of the nine goals scoring four of them and assisting on two others. He also had a goal in a 9-2 loss to the Wolves. Parker continues his strong season offensively for the Jr. Thunder with 33 points (16G, 17A) in 15 games. The Jr. Thunder (10-10-0-1) will next take on the New Hampshire Avalanche (12-6-2-1) Saturday night at 7:10pm.

East Division

Jack Munini - Providence Capitals (G)

The EHLP East Division Star of the Week for week 11/12 is goaltender Jack Munini from the Providence Capitals. The ’05 Reading, MA native had two terrific performances in goal this week. He posted a shutout in a 3-0 win against the Seahawks Hockey Club where he had 45 saves. Munini earned his second win of the week in a 4-3 overtime win against CT Nor’Easter AAA Academy. He allowed three goals and had 30 saves in the win. In 17 appearances so far, Munini is 11-5 with a 2.31 GAA in 936 minutes played. The Capitals (14-7-1-0) will next host the CT Nor’Easter (8-6-1-3) Tuesday at 11:30 am.

South Division

Bryan Hirtzel - Philadelphia Little Flyers (G)

The South Division Star of the Week for the EHLP is goaltender Bryan Hirtzel from the Philadelphia Little Flyers. The ’05 native of Bethpage, NY earned his second consecutive win in net in a 2-1 shootout win over the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. Hirtzel allowed one goal and had 36 saves in the big win for the Little Flyers. The Little Flyers next up will host the Huntsmen Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm.
